Sunday's sermon asked a question worth sitting with this week: What happens when the thing that makes you valuable gets automated away?

Turns out, the things that matter most — empathy, presence, wisdom, creativity, hope — can't be automated.
They never could be. And Jesus knew that. Two thousand years before the rise of AI, he called ordinary people, gave them those very gifts, and said, "Go."

That's still the call. Go be the EPOCH apostles this congregation is called to be. 💛

This week we've been living with Abraham's story — a man who stepped out without a map, trusting only the One who promised to show the way. Today we'll see where his journey takes us.

"The righteous live by their faithfulness." — Habakkuk 2:4

Simple. Difficult. Life-changing.

This is the verse that Paul carries into Romans, and it traces all the way back to Abraham — a man who kept walking even when he couldn't see the road ahead.

This weekend, wherever you are on the journey, may you take the next faithful step.

"We are blessed to be a blessing." — Genesis 12:2

At Moyock UMC, we take that seriously. Our food pantry, our preschool, our GriefShare group — these ministries exist because we believe blessing isn't meant to stop with us. It's meant to overflow into our community.

A thought for the middle of your week...

After God met Abraham along the journey, Abraham built an altar — a physical marker that said, here, the Lord was faithful.

We build altars too. They look like journal entries, answered prayers written on sticky notes, stories we tell our kids about the times God came through.

What's one altar you could build today? Take a moment to name it — even quietly, just between you and God.
