When we think about the death and resurrection of Jesus, we often think about the promise of eternal life. But the blessing of resurrection isn’t simply about receiving a gift from God; there is also a responsibility.

Such a blessing should not be treated like a blank check, but rather a relationship that must be nourished.

How can the hardest seasons of our lives shape the blessings we give?

In the final installment of Origin Story, Pastor Kim reflects on “Blessings” and Jacob’s words to Pharaoh: “Few and hard have been the years of my life.”

Jacob’s struggles didn’t take away his ability to bless—they informed his blessings. His story reminds us that even our hardest chapters can become part of how God works through us.

What do we do with the parts of Scripture we struggle to understand?

In yesterday’s Sermon, Pastor Kim continued our five-week Origin Story series with “The Scandal of Choosing,” turning to Genesis 48 and the difficult reality of God’s choosing.

Pastor Kim reminds us that we can’t pick and choose which parts of Scripture to prioritize. Some passages and ideas may challenge us—but wrestling with them, sitting with the tension, and resisting easy answers is part of the work of engaging God’s Word.
