The Highway Community is a non-denominational Christian church community based in the Silicon Valley in the California Bay Area. We believe that as followers of Jesus, we are called to live as missionaries in our neighborhoods, schools, workplaces, and among the least of these -- and our core values of Community, Truth, Authenticity, and Hope play a vital role in this calling. The Highway Communit

y gathers for worship every Sunday at 10:30am at our campus located at 2050 Miramonte Ave., Mountain View, 94040 (between Cuesta Dr. and Covington)

Advent at Highway begins this Sunday.

Jesus was born “in the time of King Herod” — a real moment shaped by empire, anxiety, fear, and longing. Our world has its own version of that time: the grind of busyness, the pull of consumerism, the glow of screens, the growing sense of weariness. This season we’re paying attention to the world that forms us and the God who still breaks in with hope.

Here’s what’s coming:
* Nov. 30 — In the Time of Herod
* Dec. 7 — In the Time of Over-Scheduling
* Dec 14 — In the Time of Consumerism
* Dec 21 — In the Time of Technological Advancement
* Dec 24 — In the Time of Weariness
* Dec 28 — In the Time of Let-Down

This Sunday, March 16, 9:30 AM - 2:00 PM, we’re teaming up with Stanford Blood Center to host a Blood Donation Drive at Highway!

✨ Why donate?
✔️ Be a hero – Your blood could save someone’s life.
✔️ Feel invincible – You just gave away part of yourself and are still standing.
✔️ Good excuse to sit down – “Sorry, can’t help move those chairs—I just donated blood.”

We believe in being a blessing to those in need, and this is a simple, powerful way to do that. Sign up for a time slot at highway.org/events and join us in making a difference! 💉💪

This Sunday, on Feb. 2 after church, we'll set up tables in the courtyard where you can put any finger foods or drinks you'd like to contribute. They can be store-bought or homemade. Go to Highway.org/events to add your name and item to the potluck signup sheet so we can plan accordingly.

Lunar New Year, which is a two-week celebration that starts on Jan. 29 this year, is celebrated by many Asian cultures and many people in our community. It's one of the most important holidays of the year in countries including China, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia and the Philippines.

This festival traditionally includes gathering around food with family and friends, so we thought it would be fitting to throw a little festive potluck of Asian snacks with our Highway Community family after church.

Calling all wine-connoisseurs! This week from the lectionary, we're looking at Jesus turning some lame water into some righteous wine. Before this Sunday, spend some time in John 2:1-11. (Also, as a reminder, here are the rest of the lectionary scriptures for the week)

• Isaiah 62:1-5
• Psalm 36:5-10
• 1 Corinthians 12:1-11
