Dear friends in Christ:

Today we woke up to the shocking yet not totally unexpected news of the death of our Holy Father, Pope Francis. How fitting that his earthly journey ended shortly after—despite his very fragile health—blessing the faithful in St. Peter’s Square in Rome on Easter Sunday.

You are invited to join me, Skagit Valley clergy, and faithful from throughout the Valley parishes to Masses in which we will remember, give thanks for, and pray for Pope Francis and the Church. These include today, April 21:

10:30 a.m. St. Charles, Burlington
7:00 p.m. Immaculate Conception, Mount Vernon (bilingual)

A bilingual all-Valley Requiem Mass (Mass for the Dead) will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 30, at 7 p.m. at Immaculate Conception (Requiem Masses are not permitted during the Octave of Easter). Immaculate Conception church will be open for prayer all day today.

With gratitude for the Holy Father and his faithful ministry. May he rest in peace.

Fr. Tom

Padre Tom
