Obituary For Annie Jean Peterson
Annie Jean Peterson was born on July 10, 1957, in Louise, Mississippi, to JW and Ida Broomfield. Annie and her twin sister, Hattie, were affectionately named after their grandmother – Annie carrying the name of Ida’s mother, Annie Bullock.

In 1958 the family relocated to W**d, California, where Annie grew up and attended W**d Elementary and W**d High School. A spirited and active young woman, she played sports and sang in the choir throughout her school years, graduating in 1975.

On July 18, 1991 Annie welcomed a baby boy, Jonathan Solomon Craig Roberts, who quickly stole her heart and became her “Pookie” and the family’s “Gentle Giant.”

Annie went on to spend more than 10 years working at W**d Elementary as a Teacher’s Aide and Teacher’s Assistant, where she was affectionately known to generations of students as “Ms. P.” She cared for hundreds of children each day – in the classroom, on the playground, and as she chaperoned them safely home on the bus.

If you knew Annie, you knew she loved the Lord. She was an active member of Wayside Church of God in Christ, where she served faithfully in many capacities. Her favorite, though, was singing in the choir – she was blessed with an angelic voice, and if you were lucky, you received your very own special rendition of “Happy Birthday” from her each year.

Annie had many friends and kept in touch often, calling just to say hello and “I love you.” She was an amazing friend, mother, sister, and daughter, who often went out of her way to be generous to the people she loved.

Annie was also known and loved for her personality and her quick, colorful expressions – the “ad-lib queen” who peppered every conversation with her signature quirks: “You better come on up,”, “Wait a minute, back that train up,” “You so crazy!,” I know that’s right,” “Hey, hey, hey!, “Isn’t she divine!” and
Kiss the kids!”

She leaves to cherish her memories, her devoted and loving family: siblings, Regina, Robert (Christine), Geretha, Gloria, Ira and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Annie was preceded in death by her son, Jonathan, father JW, and siblings Velma Jean, Johnny, Jerry and Hattie. Her mother, Ida, passed just seven days after Annie.

Annie leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, faith, and generosity that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, students, and church family.

Obituary For Edward "Ed" Long
Ed Long passed away August 10, 2026, at home in Red Bluff at the age of 78. He was born in McCloud to Virgil and Mary (Lay) Long on January 19, 1948. After graduating from McCloud High School he left McCloud to attend the University of California at San Luis Obispo where he received his degree in architecture. After college he married his college sweetheart, Patricia Nixon. He had many years with his own architecture business in Red Bluff before moving too Sacramento to work for Kitchell Construction where he was their senior architect. Some of his better known design projects were for the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and he designed many of the area casinos. After retirement he moved back to Red Bluff to be near family and friends.

He leaves behind his sisters Mary and husband Jim Girard and Lana and husband Ken Lovelady, his 2 stepchildren Jeremy Allen and Amber Allen, step grandchildren Kean, A’miyah, and Micah, nephews and nieces Steven and Cindi Girard, Greg and Kyra Girard, Keri and Victor Matamoros, Amanda Lovelady, and Kyle and Lyla Lovelady, 5 great nephews and 1 great niece.

He was a talented artist and enjoyed oil painting. Ed loved golfing and racing his Miata. He also enjoyed sky diving and climbing Mt Shasta in his younger years.

A graveside memorial is being planned at the Mt Shasta Cemetery where he will be buried next to his father

Obituary For Keith Vernon Stone
Keith Vernon Stone passed away July 29, 2026 at his home in Mount Shasta, California. He was 73 years old.

Keith was born in Hollister, California on May 22, 1953 to Vernon Keith Stone and Dorothy Josephine Hooton Stone. When Keith was 14, the family moved to Southwest Montana.

He was a standout football, basketball, and track and field athlete for the Twin Bridges High School Falcons and graduated in 1971. For the three decades that followed, he engaged in farming and ranching in Madison County, Montana until he moved back to Northern California in the early 2000s. He was a respected real estate appraiser in the Siskiyou and Shasta Counties area up until his death.

Keith loved a good cowboy hat and collected many during his life. Old westerns like Lonesome Dove and any movie with John Wayne on a horse were some of his favorites.

He had a special kinship with dogs and especially with his beloved Border Collie companion named Bird. He enjoyed bestowing nicknames on people, telling jokes, and could talk to anyone about just about anything. He was a lifelong fan of the San Francisco Giants and the San Francisco 49ers as well as all things football.

He is survived by his children, CJ Stone (Jason), Luke Stone (Brooke), and his grandchildren Anna, Audrey, and Avery. He is also survived by his four siblings, Virginia Stevenson, June Baker (Everett), Judy Bacon, and Marvin Stone as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, his great uncle Claude Stone, and brother-in-laws, Dennis Stevenson and Ted Bacon.

His children would like to thank all of Keith’s friends in Mount Shasta including John and Nicole Robertson for their kindness.

A private memorial will be held at a later date. Any memorials in his name are requested to be given to the non-profit organizations that are part of his granddaughters’ lives: West Warrior Kids Foundation of West, TX and StageOne Family Theatre of Louisville, KY.

Obituary For William Eugene White
William (Bill) White, beloved brother, uncle, and friend passed away on Sunday, July 12, in San Carlos, Ca. Bill was born March 7, 1941 in Dunsmuir, California. He grew up in Castella and Sweetbriar, attending Castle Rock and Slate Creek elementary schools, Dunsmuir High School, and Chico State College. He was active in sports, music, drama, and student government.

Bill’s artistic talents were best showcased during his thirty years at the San Francisco museums where he served as Director of Exhibition and Design. His characteristic sensitivity and respect were always present in his many exhibits, most especially the King Tut, the Dresden, the Dead Sea Scrolls, and many more.

Bill is survived by his sister, Verna Franchi, nieces and nephews Caryn Matter, Kevin Franchi, Jennifer Maupin, Richard White, Randall White, Justin White, three great nephews and three great-great grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Evelyn and Vernon White, and his brother, Richard White.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 22nd at 1:00 p.m at Crippen and Flynn Carlmont Chapel, 1111 Alameda de las Pulgas, Belmont. Burial will be Saturday, August 29th, 11:00 am at Mt. Shasta Memorial Park, 830 Lassen Lane.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.

Obituary For Clifford Robert Bullerwell
Clifford Robert Bullerwell, 75, lifelong resident of Mt. Shasta, passed away suddenly in a place he loved on July 13, 2026, surrounded by the family he loved so deeply. His final moments were spent in one of his very favorite places—the Coastal Redwoods—surrounded by the beauty of the trees, the love of his family, and the gentle sound of the Smith River nearby.

Clifford was the youngest child of Willard and Phyllis Bullerwell and is survived by Paige, his beloved wife of 50 years; his daughters, Crystal (Zac) Aston and Megan (Steven) Scharpf; his brothers, Willard (Jerrie) Bullerwell, Geary Bullerwell, and David (Carol) Bullerwell; his five cherished grandchildren; Charlotte, Maddox, and Elsie Aston, and Quentin and Hendrix Scharpf, along with many loving nieces and nephews. To those who knew him best, Clifford was a devoted husband, an amazing father, a beloved Papa, and a loyal friend whose steady presence, humor, and love will be deeply missed.

Clifford was a graduate of Mt. Shasta High School and attended College of the Siskiyous. He was proud to serve his country in Vietnam and was honored with the Medal of Commendation upon his discharge.

Throughout his life, Clifford was known for his strong work ethic, attention to detail, and unwavering moral character. He provided for his family in his early years through his work at Champion Plywood in McCloud before transferring to International Paper Company in W**d, where he worked in the woods operating heavy equipment to build logging roads. He later returned to Champion, where he remained until its closure in 1984.

Clifford went on to complete his working career with the City of Mount Shasta Public Works Department, where he served for over 30 years. He also gave generously of his time and heart as a member of the Mount Shasta Fire Department for 24 years, serving as Captain and later as Deputy Chief. One of his great joys was serving as chairman of the Fireman’s Association’s Santa’s Sleigh, where he helped bring wonder, laughter, and holiday magic to the children of his community.

Clifford loved life, and he loved his people fiercely. He was always ready to throw a softball around with his daughters and host crowds of highschoolers at his home, laughing as his daughters and their friends ate him out of house and home. During camping trips to Jedediah Smith State Park, he taught his kids how to fish, set up a camp and to whittle sticks to roast marshmallows.

In the role of “Papa”, he found joy in simple, meaningful moments—attending his grandchildren’s’ sporting activities, and sharing time with family and friends. Some of his favorite moments were traveling the country with his “bride,” Paige, who was and forever will be the love of his life. His love, strength, stories, and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 31, at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Mount Shasta. Immediately following the service, family and friends are invited to attend a graveside ceremony with a military salute. A reception celebrating Clifford’s life will follow at the Upper Lodge at Mount Shasta City Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly encourages donations to Santa’s Sleigh in Clifford’s honor.

Obituary For Noun Promvongsa
Today we gather to celebrate the life of Noun Promvongsa, a remarkable woman whose strength, resilience, and love left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.

Born on May 1, 1957, in Pakse, Laos, Noun carried the values of hard work, perseverance, and family throughout her life. In 1991, she immigrated to Fresno, California, seeking new opportunities for those she loved. She also called Oregon and Alaska home, building a life through determination and unwavering dedication.

Noun was a devoted mother to her sons, Somphone and Somboun, and her daughter, Bea Promvongsa. She was also a proud and loving grandmother to her beloved grandson, Izaiah, who brought her endless joy.

She found happiness in life's simple pleasures—searching for mushrooms and berries, visiting the casino, and spending time with friends and family. Her greatest gift, however, was her incredible determination. Through hard work, perseverance, and an unbreakable spirit, she built a life of success and created opportunities for those she loved.

Noun's kindness, strength, and generosity will never be forgotten. Her legacy lives on through her family, the lives she touched, and the values she passed on. Though she is no longer with us, her love and spirit will remain in our hearts forever.

Obituary For Christopher Max Sidney Le Baugh
Christopher Max Sidney LeBaugh, 80, of Vancouver, WA, left this earthly life on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Lake Siskiyou near Mt. Shasta, CA.

Chris was born on November 8, 1945, to Max and Cynthia LeBaugh in Norwich, England, where his father Max was stationed during WWII. When the war ended, Max was sent home, leaving his wife and new son in England. It would be months before Cynthia was able to travel to the US aboard the Queen Mary with her infant son. The family lived in Council Bluffs, IA until Cynthia died of tuberculosis in 1949. Later Max remarried and moved to Daly City, CA where Chris attended Jefferson High School and both San Mateo and Solano Colleges.

Chris was drafted into the United States Marine Corps in January 1966 and was deployed to Vietnam. On June 27, 1967, Lance Corporal Chris LeBaugh was seriously wounded in a fire fight causing the loss of his right leg and extensive injury to the other. He was permanently retired from the Marine Corps on March 20, 1968.

Following his military service, Chris pursued his lifelong passion of flying. When he was recovering in the VA Hospital, his first question to the doctor was, “Will I still be able to fly airplanes?” In 1976 Chris began his career in aviation as a flight instructor in Napa, CA. He also worked there as a corporate pilot.

In 1984 Chris moved to Vancouver, WA where he began his 10-year airline career with Horizon Air, flying Metroliners and Dash 8’s. He finished his flying career at Empire Airlines and retired in December 2004. Chris was never one to sit idle; he lived life to the fullest. While he was still working he built his own plane, an RV6. He traveled to England several times to visit his relatives and to Alaska for numerous fishing trips. He loved camping and visited most of the national parks.

Some of his many hobbies included bicycling, model railroading, and going fishing as often as he could. One of his greatest joys in life was spending time with his family, who all will miss him deeply.

Chris is survived by his wife, Jane; daughter Carolyn Gregg (Andy); daughter Christine McAtee; son Michael LeBaugh; grandchildren Rhett Alben, Chris LeBaugh III (Lisha), Katie Gregg Huber, Lucy Gregg, William McAtee, Max McAtee; great granddaughters Marley LeBaugh and Paisley McAtee; brother Stephen LeBaugh; sister Pamela LeBaugh; sisters-in-law Norma Rath, Mary Scott, Julie Kiertzner, Joy Seggerman and also 15
nieces and nephews and 27 great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Chris LeBaugh II, sister Dorothy Caine-Brown, sister-in-law Janis Robinson, and brothers-in-law Harold and Leonard Seggerman.

Obituary For Ernestine Leeanna Taylor
Ernestine LeeAnna Taylor, affectionally known as “Erni” was born in Mt. Shasta, California, on April 26, 1996, to Henry and Linda Taylor. Ernestine accepted Christ at an early age. She attended W**d Elementary School and W**d High School in W**d, California.

As the youngest child in the family, Erni was blessed with a special closeness to her parents. As her older siblings began building lives of their own she enjoyed many years of sharing everyday moments with her mother and father, creating a bond filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. She loved them deeply and was grateful for the time they spent together.

Anyone who knew Erni will always remember her beautiful smile and the laughter she shared so freely. One of her favorite ways to greet family and friends was with a cheerful, “Good morning, Gorgeous”, a simple phrase that instantly made people feel seen and appreciated.

Ernestine found her greatest joy in being surrounded by the people she loved. She cherished life’s simple moments, whether spending a peaceful day fishing on the lake or enjoying conversations on the phone with family and friends. She valued the time she spent with the people she loved and never took those moments together for granted.

Erni had a caring and compassionate heart that reached beyond her own home. As a home heathcare provider she lovingly cared for her beloved grandmother, Martha McGehee, a role she embraced with patience, kindness, and love. Caring for her grandmother was more than a job-it was an expression of her love. Through her gentle spirit and devoted care, she made a meaningful difference in her grandmother’s life each day.

Ernestine shared a special life with her partner, Gerald Holmes. Together they built a beautiful family filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. She was a devoted mother to her beloved daughter, Jazmynne. And embraced Josiah, Jakobe, and Jace with love, care, and an open heart. Whether sharing meals, celebrating milestones, or simply enjoying everyday moments together. Her family was the center of her world and she treasured every moment they spent together.

Erni also enjoyed expressing her love through cooking. Family and friends always looked forward to her famous 'space burgers’, which became a favorite at family gatherings and cookouts. For Ernestine, preparing a meal wasn’t just about food- it was about bringing people together, creating memories, and enjoying one another’s company.

Erni was preceded in death by her father, Henry Taylor. Left to cherish her memory is her precious children, Jazmynne, Josiah, Jakobe, and Jace; her partner, Gerald Holmes; her beloved mother, Linda Taylor; her loving brother, Isaiah, her treasured sisters, Terenna and Gillian; and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were touched by her kindness and love.

We will remember her smile, cherish the moments we shared, and hold close the memories that time can never take away.

Erni will be Forever Loved, Forever Remembered, and Forever Missed.

There will be a Funeral Service to honor and celebrate the life of Ernestine on Friday, July 31, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Shasta Memorial Chapel, 830 Lassen Lane, Mount Shasta, California.

Interment: Lincoln Heights Cemetery, W**d, California.
