Obituary For Blanchard Leroy Foster, Jr.
Blanchard Leroy Foster, age 75 of Mount Shasta, CA passed away on Friday, May 29, 2026 at Mercy Hospital in Redding, CA.

He was born August 6, 1950 in Little Rock, Arkansas, son of the late Blanchard Foster, Sr. and Elaine Foster.

For over 20 years, Leroy was a psychotherapist in Mount Shasta, Redding, and Ashland, OR, retiring six years ago.

Leroy is survived by his wife of 41 years, Diane K. Foster. He also leaves behind his son Greg Foster, step-daughter Jennifer Walbridge, and grandsons.

There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.

Mt. Shasta Memorial Park celebrated Memorial Day with it's annual veterans observance and community Barbecue. Our event was well attended and featured guest speakers, live music and a veterans walk through the cemetery to honor our veterans that are buried there. Guests were treated to a delicious barbecue. It was great to see everyone and to pay tribute to our veterans. Special thanks go out to Shasta Bottling Company, Marge Wheeler (our guest speaker), Monty Messenger, the Mt. Shasta Elk's Lodge, Clarence Barger for his special music and the Cal Fire Bagpiper. We appreciate each one of you.

Also, we want to thank the staff of Mt. Shasta Memorial Park & Chapel for all of their hard work and dedication to make this Memorial Day special.

Obituary For William "Bill" Anderson Tolbert
William “Bill” Anderson Tolbert, 70, of Lake Shastina, CA, passed away on 4/16/2026. Bill was born on 1/26/1956 to Charles Leon Tolbert and Viola Andrea Tolbert (nee Anderson) in El Cajon, CA.

Bill grew up in the hills around San Diego. The baby of the family, he was an athlete through and through. He loved nothing better than spending
time outdoors, deep sea diving and fishing off California, Indonesia, and other parts of the Pacific Ocean. After retirement, Bill moved to Northern California where he enjoyed his view of Mt. Shasta every morning. In later years, Bill took up singing, performing, and attending concerts at the College of the Siskiyous.

Bill was predeceased by his parents as well as his older sisters Caroline Tolbert Gibson and Lynette Tolbert Russo. Bill is survived by his oldest sister Andrea Tolbert Wakefield, his nieces Elizabeth Wakefield and Sarah Courtney Stieber, his nephews Matthew Tolbert Gibson and Joseph Tolbert Russo, as well as their spouses and children, and his many cousins and friends.

The staff of Mt. Shasta Memorial Chapel had the privilege of particpating in the "Every 15 Minutes Program" at W**d High School. This is a very powerful program that helps student understand the seriousness of drinking and driving. We have posted the video below. But, as a warning, it is very dramatic.
