The Earth and the life that springs from it are more powerful than we give credit. Too many conversations about environmental justice focus on the damage that humans are doing to the Earth. While we are indeed changing our environment for the worse, we are making it deadly for ourselves and all other species. But the Earth will survive past any memory of the human species. If we understand the power of our Earth, we might better understand how important environmental justice is for our own human survival.
