Live liturgically this Lent with our free Lenten Guide. I pray that this Lent you are brought into your own darkness, your own powerlessness, your own deep surrender. I pray that you arrive to Good Friday united with the Crucified Christ. I pray that you arrive to the Easter season surrendered to Go...

Different women.

Different nationalities.

Different skin tones.

Different body types.

Different socio-economic backgrounds.

Different childhoods.

Different upbringings.

Different educations.

Different friendships.

Different vocations.

Different trials.

Different blessings.

Different virtues.

Different vices.

Different prayer lives.

Different sacrifices.

All. Saints.

All. Still. Saints.

So, on the eve before All Saints Day, let this be a reminder that there is no mold.

There never has been.

There never will be.

God made you and he knows you.

He loves you AND he likes you.

And He doesn’t want you to be anyone else.

Let us not be confused by the talents and missions of other saints. Let us be the kind of saints we were created to be.

Happy Feast of the Archangels! 🎉 🎉 🎉

✨I love being Catholic for many reasons, but one is the wonderful role of the angels in Catholic spirituality.

✨On this Feast Day, let’s talk about the meaning of the Archangels’ names. Notice they all end in “El,” which is the Hebrew word for God. This reminds us that the holy angels are all focused on God, completely in love with him, and literally would be nothing without him.

✝ “Michael” comes from three elements in Hebrew: mi, “who,” + chi, “like,” + el, “God.” Thus: “Who is like God?” St. Michael is absorbed in worship of God, to whom no created creature can compare.

✝ “Gabriel” comes from three elements: the root geber, “to be strong” + the suffix î, “my” + el, “God.” Thus: “God is my strength (or ‘strong one’).”

✝Finally, “Raphael” comes from rapha’, “to heal” + el, “God,” thus “God heals.”

✨ Getting to know the angels and calling on them for help and support doesn’t lead us away from God but rather to God, because the angels are radically God-centered!
