Confirmation Sunday - Pentecost - Baptism - Communion - all in one day!

Don't forget - Sunday 5/24 is Pentecost Sunday. be sure to wear red! Wearing red it's an outward sign of the inward transformation by the Holy Spirit in each of our hearts. Red is a visual reminder of the “tongues of fire" that empowered the apostles and others to proclaim the good news of Christ's resurrection in many languages to the crowds of pilgrims from many lands (Acts 2:3). If you forget - it's OK - come as you are no matter what color you're wearing!

Pentecost is the day on which the Christian church commemorates the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles and others assembled in Jerusalem. It marks the beginning of the Christian church and the proclamation of its message throughout the world and is often referred to as the birthday of the church. The liturgical color for Pentecost is red. Traditionally, Pentecost has been a day for baptisms.

Come help clean up the church this Saturday from 9am-1pm. There will be indoor and outdoor work to do, and it's also a great way to get to know other people at Calvary. Please bring work gloves, clippers and rakes for outdoor work, if you have them.
