Today marked a historic milestone for the Strickland-Amey family and the Mount Calvary Church. We gathered to honor the lives and legacy of Denna and Estella Strickland, who were tragically killed in October 1932 during the Jim Crow era.

While their story is rooted in unimaginable tragedy, today represented a triumphant step toward remembrance, truth, and healing. We refuse to let their names be forgotten.

We remember not in hatred, but in love. Not to reopen old wounds, but to ensure that history is acknowledged and that their lives continue to speak to generations yet to come.

May their memory forever be a reminder of resilience, dignity, and the enduring power of hope.
