**STORM UPDATE #7: Report your flood damage; Tap into disaster assistance
It’s been a very difficult two weeks bracing for and surviving the historic rainfall (and then the strong winds) impacting Monroe. We are now in the recovery phase of this disaster.

We’ve posted flood recovery resources to our city website at http://monroewa.gov/1309/Flood-Recovery. This webpage lists contact information for government and non-profit agencies who are offering disaster assistance to those who qualify. It also includes frequently asked questions. Please share this post on your neighborhood and business social media platforms to help share this information.

Also, if you need a city building permit to repair or replace structures damaged by the flood event, permit fees for eligible work are temporarily waived. Dear Friend,
As the holy month of Ramadan draws near, we are excited to extend our heartfelt invitation to our annual 'Breaking Bread, Building Bridges' Iftar Dinner. This event is open to all members of our local community, regardless of faith, and we warmly welcome you to join us for an evening of unity, dialogue, and fellowship.

The theme of our event, 'Breaking Bread, Building Bridges,' reflects our commitment to fostering understanding and cooperation among diverse communities. We believe that by coming together and sharing a meal, we can build bridges of friendship and solidarity that transcend cultural and religious differences.

During the event, we will have the privilege of hearing perspectives on achieving world peace and living harmoniously from esteemed speakers, including our local Imam and elected officials from our community. They will share insights on the importance of embracing diversity, promoting tolerance, and working towards a peaceful society filled with respect and understanding.

It is worth noting that the pursuit of peace is a central belief in Islam. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasized the importance of compassion, justice, and peaceful coexistence, and these values continue to guide our community today.

The program will conclude with the Iftar dinner, where guests are invited to join us as we break our fasts together. This shared meal represents the spirit of hospitality, generosity, and unity that defines Ramadan.

Please RSVP at http://bit.ly/amcdinner to confirm your attendance. Feel free to extend this invitation to your friends, family, and neighbors, as we aim to make this event inclusive and welcoming to all.

We look forward to welcoming you to this meaningful gathering and to celebrating the bonds that unite us as a community.
