Day 3 - 21 Days of Prayers for VBS
Scripture:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7 ESV).
Prayer:
God, I thank You that Your word instructs me not to be anxious about anything. In the lead up to VBS, I lay down any anxiety or fear at Your feet, and I give thanks instead for the wonderful work You’re going to do in my church and community. I ask for your supernatural peace over all the details and tasks coming up. Especially in stressful areas like budgeting or scheduling volunteers. You are my provider. I trust You.
I am reminded of God's Word in Matthew 6:25-34 where Jesus teaches on being anxious. Jesus in verse 26 says this:
"Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?"
God loves you more than the birds of the air and He takes care of them so why should we be anxious? Instead, as Paul tells us in Philippians we should, "...in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let our requests be made known to God." The result = peace that surpassess all understanding!
This is the love, peace, and hope found in Christ Jesus that we get to share with all those who are coming to VBS this year!
