MASS FOR TRINITY SUNDAY AT THE BORDER TOWN PARISHES (MAY 31, 2026)

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was in God's presence and the Word was God." During the Latin Masses prior to (and after) Vatican II, these opening words from the Prologue of John's gospel set the parameters of our understanding about one God, three persons, one substance that we understand as two persons bonded together more than we can ever comprehend by the person of the Holy Spirit. Today's homily reflects on this understanding and how we need to model that bond of love by living the same way with each other.

TO HONOR THOSE WHO HAVE SACRIFICED THEIR LIVES FOR OUR COUNTRY (MEMORIAL DAY MASSES 2026)

On Memorial Day 2026, Fr. Pete Jankowski and the faithful from St. Anne's Church (St. Anne, IL) and St. Patrick's Church (Momence, IL) celebrate two special CEMETERY MASSES to honor our loved ones who have served our country in the Armed Services and those whose funerals we celebrated this last year. HOMILY FOR PENTECOST AT ST. PATRICK'S CHURCH (MOMENCE, IL) - MAY 23, 2026

Fr. Pete Jankowski offers this Homily on location at St. Patrick's Church (Momence, IL), focusing on one's "Personal Mission Statement" the proves the foundation of who a person is and what a person does. Fr. Pete's own Personal Mission Statement is as such: "Honoring the teachings and allowing myself to be guided by my higher power, I humbly choose to follow the Golden Rule and to place the needs of those who are vulnerable ahead of my own."

This homily focuses on the "Purpose in Life" and "Personal Mission Statement" that Fr. Pete has taught as part of his last class for the Vietnamese Students taking his "Just Business" Philosophy course at the University of Education and Business in Vietnam, in conjunction with the University of St. Francis in Joliet.

MASS FOR PENTECOST SUNDAY AT THE BORDER TOWN PARISHES (MAY 24, 2026)

Reflecting on all the wonderful spiritual opportunities afforded the country parishes in the southern end of the Joliet Diocese, Fr. Pete concludes this Easter Season with a homily about all the GOOD that has taken place these last eight weeks in the Border Town Parishes, not only focusing on the purchase of generators and upgrading parking lots at St. Patrick's but also the spiritual graces afforded both parishes due to the GOOD SOULS in our Border Town Communities that made all of this possible!!!

Preceding this Mass are highlights from the First Communion Liturgies that took place at both parishes on May 3, 2026.

John Rehmer (Director of Religious Education), Sandra Lutz (Musician) and the Students from St. Patrick's Religious Education Program celebrate with the community at large with our May Crowning Celebration. Fr. Pete's homily that day focused on a gift that Ben Nicholson from St. Anne's gave his family with a "puffy flower" given to him on Mother's Day that he place on his grandmother's grave on Mother's Day, ending with a Father/Son story that teaches us the importance of innocent children in our lives.

So the work has begun on the St. Patrick’s parking lot renovations that hopefully will be completed by the end of the week. So much thanks to Mayor Chuck Steele, Chief of Police Patrick Siemsen, Ted Peterson and a whole group of wonderful individuals and donors who made all of this possible!

The project should be completed by next Sunday, so people can come to church in their brand new parking lot!
