Happy Pride!

St. John's UCC is an Open and Affirming congregation. Our full Open and Affirming covenant is available on our website at stjohnsmokena.org.

When we say "no matter who you are or where you are on life's journey, you are welcome here" we truly mean it.

Calling all students in grades 6-12 to join us for our Youth Group Summer Sessions every Thursday from 6:00-8pm in the CCC. Every week will include a variety of activities for the youth: basketball, volleyball, arts and crafts, Nintendo switch competitions, movie nights, and lots of snacks and refreshments. Our hope is to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive space for our middle and high schoolers to gather, socialize, and connect with others in the community.

Our Summer Kickoff will be this Thursday, June 4 from 6:00-8pm in the CCC. Come celebrate the end of the school year with a movie in the gym, art tables in the hallway, and a bonfire and s'mores station outside (weather permitting). Make sure to RSVP and vote for the movie!! RSVP link in comments.

Join us this Sunday, May 31st at our 9:45am for our annual Children and Youth Sunday!! Our children and youth will be performing, singing, reading and writing prayers, greeting, ushering, and even giving the sermon!

*Make sure to wear your “Be the Peace” tie dye shirt!!! We also have a handful of shirts left in the office for purchase.

Lastly, don’t forgot to join us for our end of the year celebration that evening (May 31st) from 5-7pm. The Foam Ryders are back again with a fun Foam Party for all to enjoy! Please make sure to RSVP by Saturday to help us prepare! *rsvp link in comments

We still have about ten “Be the Peace” shirts available for purchase ($15) in our front office. These shirts were tie dyed by our youth and children’s ministries so each one is unique.

Currently, these are the sizes available:
3 - Adult Large
1 - Adult Small
1 - Youth Medium
4 - Youth Small
1 - 4T (toddler size)

Please stop in our front office anytime from 9-3pm M-F or after Sunday Services to purchase your shirt. Feel free to contact Jaci at [email protected] for more info or to coordinate a different time to purchase/pickup.

Pastor Rocky will be on vacation and the kids are taking over!

Join us on May 31st at our 9:45am service for a special children and youth service where kids will be performing, singing, reading and writing prayers, greeting, ushering, and even giving the sermon!

Later that evening we will be celebrating the end of a wonderful year of children and youth ministry at St. John's with a foam party! Join us from 5-7pm, just rsvp so we can make sure to have enough food.
