In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ I will begin this day.
I thank you, Lord, for having preserved me during the night. I will do my best to make all I do today pleasing to You and in accordance with Your will. My dear Mother Mary, watch over me this day. My Guardian Angel, take care of me. St. Joseph and all you saints of God, pray for me.
O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer You my prayers, works, joys and sufferings of this day for all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart, in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, in reparation for my sins, for all the poor souls in purgatory, for the intentions of all my relatives and friends, and in particular for the intentions of the Holy Father.
I wish to gain all the indulgences attached to the prayers I shall say and the good works I shall perform this day. Amen.

Pray.
In the name of The Father, and The Son, and The Holy Spirit
God of Peace and Justice,
we pray for those caught up
in the current violence in Ukraine.
We implore you for peace.
Holy Spirit, Our Consolation,
comfort all those who fear.
Grant wisdom and discernment
to those in power.
Holy Family, who fled to Egypt,
guard all those who have sought refuge
away from the land they love,
and bring them safely home again.
Mary, Mother of us all,
cast your protecting veil
around all suffering lands and peoples.
Turn all hearts back to your Son,
our only Savior and the Prince of Peace.
Amen.

The power of prayer! It is magnificent! It is amazing! The Lord Jesus Christ does care and will answer your prayers in His time.

Do you open your eyes to the power of prayer? Do you acknowledge Jesus Christ as all powerful? Do you see what He, Christ almighty has done for you?

This morning as I was suffering from a terrible foot infection, I prayed and asked that my foot be healed and my pain removed. I was sure that Jesus would hear me but wasn't sure when He would heal me. He knew my pain and discomfort. He also knew that when I pray, I place my hopes in His hands. He knows me and accepts me. He heals my illicit behavior.

Low and behold, a man walked into my restaurant this morning and we started talking. He was an employee of a podiatrist within walking distance to my business. He set me up with an appointment to see the Doctor. I met the Doctor and while speaking with Pedro, I spoke of the power of prayer. You see, Jesus Christ, after me asking to heal me, led this Pedro into my shop to talk to me and start me on the road to recovery.

I do believe this is divine providence and that a modern miracle, the power of prayer, was granted to me as my request. I open my eyes to the saving power of Jesus Christ. He does answer.

Today I pray for the repose of the soul of Mother Mary Dorothy of the Holy Spirit.

For 63 years she devoted her life to Christ. She was member of the Poor Clares at the Minooka Monastery.

I had the honor to get to know her when I constructed the infirmary on the Minooka Monastery grounds.

She was a special person.

She will be missed.
