Have you seen the newest stained glass window at St. Stanislaus?
St. Lorenzo Ruiz (+ 1637)
Feast day of September 28th

St. Lorenzo Ruiz is the patron saint of the Philippines, Filipino youth, Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), migrants, and altar servers. As the first Filipino saint and a martyr, he is honored for his unwavering faith and is often invoked by those in need of strength during trials.

Famous Quote: "I am a Catholic and wholeheartedly do accept death for God; if I had a thousand lives, I would offer them all for Him".

Born in Binondo, Manila, to a Chinese father and Filipino mother, he was a calligrapher and a family man before his martyrdom. He was martyred in Nagasaki, Japan, on September 29, 1637, after refusing to renounce his Catholic faith during the persecution of Christians.  He was beatified by Pope John Paul II in 1981—the first beatification outside the Vatican—and canonized in 1987.
