What does it mean to live differently in a world that is constantly pulling you in the opposite direction?

In 1 Peter 1:13–25, Peter reminds believers living as exiles that following Jesus means more than simply believing the right things. It means allowing the truth of the gospel to transform the way we think, live, and love.

Because God has called us to Himself, we are called to be holy. Because we have been redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus Christ, we no longer belong to our former way of life. And because we have been given new life through the living and enduring Word of God, we are called to live with a hope that changes everything.

In this message from our series Living as Exiles, we'll discover that holiness isn't about trying to earn God's favor. It's about living in light of the grace we've already received. In a world that pressures us to conform, God calls us to reflect His character, pursue holiness in every area of life, and love one another sincerely from the heart.

Where do you turn when life is difficult, the future is uncertain, and you feel like you don't belong in this world?

In 1 Peter 1:1–12, Peter writes to believers living as exiles—Christians scattered throughout the world who are facing trials but have been given something this world cannot take away: a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Because Jesus is alive, our hope is alive. Our inheritance is secure. Our faith can endure trials. And even when we cannot see Him, we can love Him, trust Him, and rejoice in the salvation He has promised.

What does it really mean to be committed to God?

In Nehemiah 10:1–39, the people of Israel put their names on a covenant, committing themselves to live according to God's Word. But their commitment wasn't merely a signature on a document. It affected their worship, their homes, their priorities, their resources, and their everyday lives.

In this message from our series Rebuilding for God's Glory, we explore what it looks like to move beyond good intentions and live with genuine commitment to the Lord.

A rebuilt wall was not enough. A renewed people needed to live for God's glory.

But there's an important gospel truth we must remember: our obedience does not earn God's grace. We respond to the grace God has already shown us. We don't obey to make God love us; we obey because He has loved us.

Ultimately, the Christian life isn't about making promises that we can keep ourselves. It's about belonging to the Savior who gave Himself for us.

Malachi 3–4 brings us to the closing words of the Old Testament. Israel has struggled with sin, spiritual apathy, empty worship, and unbelief. Yet God does not leave His people without hope.

He promises that a messenger is coming.
He promises that the Lord Himself will come.
He promises judgment for the wicked, healing for those who fear His name, and the coming of “the sun of righteousness” with healing in His wings.

Then the Old Testament goes silent.

For hundreds of years, there would be no prophet. No new Scripture. No recorded prophetic voice.

But God was not absent.

He was preparing the way for the Savior.

In Malachi 3–4, we will see how the final words of the Old Testament point us forward to Jesus Christ—and why the silence before Bethlehem was actually preparing us for the Savior.
