Sometimes we pray, “Lord, please change my spouse.” And maybe there are changes they need to make.

But are you also praying, “Lord, change me”? Selfishness comes naturally to all of us. Commitment takes more than the determination we felt on our wedding day. It takes God’s grace, and a willingness to let Him work on us, not just on the person across the table.

Have you ever felt like there was more to the battle you were facing than you could explain?

Scripture tells us there is more happening than what we can see...and that the struggles we face are not the whole story.

This Sunday, we launch a new four-week series, "The Unseen Battle."

We’re going to explore what the Bible teaches about spiritual warfare, the enemy’s tactics, and the armor God provides. We’ll discover how to guard our minds, strengthen our faith, and stand firm with confidence in Christ’s victory.

Our first message, “The Battle You Cannot See,” will take us into the experiences of Daniel and Elisha’s servant. Their stories remind us that even when we cannot see God working, we have reason to trust Him.

An enemy is against us. God is for us.

Whether you’re feeling worn down, praying for someone you love, facing temptation, or seeking to understand the spiritual world, I encourage you to make this series a priority.

Also this Sunday, you can pick up your AHEPA boxes for our Christmas Love Where You Live outreach! This is a wonderful opportunity to share the love of Christ with our neighbors this Christmas.

Come this Sunday with your Bible, your questions, and an open heart. Invite a friend who could use some encouragement, and join us as we learn to stand in the strength God provides.

Some of you are carrying regret. Maybe from decisions you made years ago. Maybe from decisions someone else made that hurt you. Maybe you just wish you could go back and do it differently.

You can’t rewrite your past. But you can bring your life before Christ today. There is forgiveness in Him, and there is grace for repentance!

Covenant faithfulness isn’t just about staying. It’s about how you treat the person you married.

Are you truthful? Are you trustworthy? Are you willing to look at the ways you might be hurting your marriage and let God change them?

If we say “I’m committed to this marriage” but refuse to acknowledge the damage we’re doing, our conduct needs to change.

To the couples who are living together but not married:

We want you to hear both the love and the clarity in this. We care about you. And because we care about you, we want to help you bring your relationship into line with God’s Word.

Sharing a home is not the same as entering the covenant of marriage. Sharing expenses is not the same as making marriage vows. And a sexual relationship does not establish the faithful covenant Scripture calls us to honor.

Hebrews 13:4 calls us to honor marriage and speaks seriously about sexual conduct outside it. So if you’re living together and sharing a sexual relationship without being married, there is a step of obedience to take.

For some of you, that means beginning serious preparation for marriage. You’ve built a life around each other. You say you want a future together. Then let’s talk about making the covenant. Let’s talk about your faith, your responsibilities, and the promises you are making.

Don’t let the cost of an elaborate wedding become the reason you keep postponing obedience. Listen, A wedding can be simple; the covenant is sacred.

Part 1 of our Fall Love Where You Live was such a beautiful reminder of what happens when our church comes together to love our community well.

Our church family filled two SUVs with donations for the men at Waterfront Rescue Mission! Coats, sweatshirts, sweatpants, underwear, t-shirts, socks, hand warmers, blankets, sheets, towels, gloves, hats, groceries, toiletries, and so much more.

When the donations were delivered, the guys at Waterfront Rescue Mission were incredibly grateful and excited to receive everything. We are so thankful for everyone who gave and helped make this possible!

A special thank you to Cindy Clayton, Kathy Kilcrease, and Karen Lee for helping deliver all the donations.

We’ll be back the day before Thanksgiving with lots of goodies to share for Part 2.

Thank you for being a church that doesn’t just gather together, but goes out and loves where we live!

Feelings matter. Affection is a wonderful part of marriage, and we should nurture it. But there will be days you’re tired, days you’re frustrated, and seasons when life puts pressure on both of you.

Those are the days your promises have to do the leading. You made them before you knew every burden you’d carry together. That’s what makes them promises.

A hard season isn’t proof your marriage is failing. It’s a time to practice your vows.
