Today the Orthodox Church begins a new year—the Beginning of the Indiction.

As the harvest season draws to a close and new seeds are planted for the year ahead, the Church turns to God in thanksgiving for His blessings and asks for peace, favorable seasons, and abundance in the fruits of the earth.

On this day, we also remember Christ’s entrance into the synagogue in Nazareth, where He proclaimed:

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me…”
— Luke 4:18

As we begin this new year, may God bless our comings and goings, guide our work according to His will, and grant peace to His Church and to the world.

Today we were reminded of what a great blessing it is to witness so many people journeying toward Christ and His Church.

Though our catechumens have each entered this journey at different times and come from different backgrounds, today we honored them together on our parish’s Community Day celebration. Their journeys are unique, but they share a common desire: to know Christ, to grow in faith, and to enter more deeply into the life of His Church.

This beautiful photo is more than a picture—it is a glimpse of God’s work in Missoula and in our parish. Each person represents a life being drawn closer to Christ.

We give thanks to God for every one of our catechumens and pray that He continues to guide, strengthen, and illumine them as they continue their journey toward the fullness of life in the Orthodox Church.

Today our parish family came together for our 3rd Annual Community Day and Newcomer Sunday. Young and old, newcomers and long-time parishioners, gathered first in worship and then in fellowship as we shared a wonderful afternoon together.

It was a beautiful opportunity to welcome new faces, strengthen existing friendships, and celebrate the unity and fellowship that make our parish community so special.

We are grateful to everyone who joined us, contributed food, volunteered their time, and helped make today a memorable celebration. Most especially, we extend a warm welcome to all of our newcomers. We are grateful that you are part of our community.

May God continue to bless our parish and guide us as we grow together in faith, fellowship, and service.

Today we had the joy of blessing our students and educators as they prepare to begin a new school year, asking God to grant them wisdom, strength, and a love of learning.

We also rejoiced as five new catechumens were received into the Church and took another beautiful step toward Holy Baptism and Chrismation. What a blessing to witness so many young people and families growing in the life of Christ!

May God bless our students, teachers, families, and our newest catechumens, and may He guide them all in the year ahead.

Today we joyfully celebrated the 40-Day Blessing of April and her daughter, Milamay.

We thank God for the gift of new life and pray that He bless Milamay with many years of health, joy, and growth in Christ.

May God bless April and Milamay and keep them always in His loving care!
