Guidelines International

Guidelines International Guidelines is a radio and media ministry sharing the gospel with those who need it most through short, relatable content distributed via global media networks.

Guidelines devotionals present the gospel in a uniquely effective way for the new believer, the unreached listener, or a listener living under persecution. Guidelines content is:

• 2-5 Minutes: Short, simple, practical and biblical
• Translated into the “Heart Language” of the Listener: the language the listener first learned from his or her mother.
• Contextualized: The devotionals sound natural

to the listener; illustrations are unique to where the listener lives and highly understandable. Guidelines has been engaged in transforming lives with the message of Jesus since 1963, when Dr. Harold Sala first began broadcasting Guidelines for Living, a daily five-minute devotional which was the first radio program of its kind. Now 57 years later, Guidelines International Ministries is in its second generation, broadcasting on a global scale, led by Bonnie Sala, Harold and Darlene Sala’s daughter. Through the support of missional Christ-followers, Guidelines has:

• Created and produced over 14,000 biblical, inspirational audio and video messages that are broadcast by radio networks and internet partners in the U.S. and around the world.
• Expanded distribution of audio and videos on social media, email and podcast subscription and made them available on seven global online streaming platforms.
• Translated the life-giving devotionals into 20 languages that are spoken by over 3.6 billion people.
• Partnered to establish five community radio stations in countries where the gospel is inaccessible to most people and distributed hundreds of solar powered radios/audio Bibles to those who could not afford them.

For many people in Central Asia, choosing to follow Jesus can come at a high cost.

While Russian Orthodox churches generally experience greater religious freedom, Protestant churches are often viewed as “dangerous sects.” New believers may face pressure from family, rejection from their community, or even risk their livelihood.

That's why discreet access to biblical teaching is so important. Through devotionals in local languages, people can explore questions about Jesus and grow in their faith, even when doing so publicly could bring consequences.

Across Central Asia, many people are spiritually curious and searching for answers about faith. Yet for countless individuals, finding reliable Christian resources isn't easy.

In many communities, access to churches, pastors, and biblical teaching is limited. In some places, restrictions on religious materials can make exploring faith even more difficult.

That's why media matters. A short devotional, video, or message shared in a local language may be one of the few opportunities someone has to explore who Jesus is and what the Bible teaches.

Khalim from Uzbekistan had been quietly watching Guidelines devotionals online and reading the Bible for himself. Then he sent this message:

“I didn't know He could care so much about me.”

Across Central Asia, many people have no church to visit and no safe place to explore faith openly. Through devotionals shared online and by radio, people are discovering the hope of Jesus in their own language.

Lives are changing, and you can help more people hear the truth they are searching for.

We're trusting God to provide $150,000 by June 30 to continue sharing these life changing messages across Central Asia.

What happens when the need for approval starts shaping our choices?

It’s easy to focus on appearances, seek affirmation, and let the opinions of others guide our decisions. But Scripture reminds us that faithfulness matters more than applause.

In today’s Reset, Bonnie Sala explores the freedom that comes from living to please God rather than people, and how Jesus modeled that kind of courage and obedience.

Central Asia sits at the crossroads of Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, shaped by centuries of cultural and spiritual influence.🌍 Yet only about 2 out of every 100 people are evangelical Christians.

Across the region, people are searching for hope and answers. Through media shared in local languages, more people can encounter biblical truth and explore faith in ways that are accessible and relevant to their daily lives.

Across many places in Central Asia, people are still searching for truth without a safe place to explore who Jesus is. These are often unreached people groups.

In many homes, a short devotional may be the only Christian encouragement someone receives all week. But God’s Word is still reaching people, quietly and safely, every single day.

And because of you, hope is being shared where it’s needed most.

Please join us in praying for the people of Southern Philippines and our ministry partner, FEBC Philippines, following the recent earthquake.

Ask God to watch over those impacted, provide strength and wisdom to those serving their communities, and help local radio ministry continue sharing timely information and the hope of Christ during this challenging time.

A magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck offshore Sarangani at 7:37 AM on June 8, triggering a tsunami warning and evacuation orders for several coastal provinces in Mindanao. PHIVOLCS warned of possible tsunami waves of more than one meter above normal tides, potentially lasting for several hours. Damage and aftershocks are also expected. Several FEBC stations in Mindanao experienced disruptions in their terrestrial broadcasts due to the quake.

Pray for God’s protection over all affected communities, especially those in coastal and high-risk areas as they evacuate. May the Lord keep every family safe, strengthen emergency responders and local authorities, and restore communication and broadcast operations quickly, so that vital information and hope may continue to reach those in need.

Guliya lives in a small village in Kyrgyzstan with no churches nearby. When she discovered Guidelines devotionals online, she wrote, “Your videos help me grow in my faith. They are such an encouragement!”

Then she shared something powerful: “I share all your videos in our local social media groups and people are watching!”

Across Central Asia, people are searching for truth quietly and often alone. Through social media, the Gospel is reaching homes and hearts every day.

We’re trusting God for $150,000 by June 30 to continue sharing these devotionals across Central Asia. Your gift helps make sure no one searches alone. ❤️
