This song sings of the unexplainable love of God, who gave His only Son to die for us, even while we’re still sinners. It sings of the call to surrender our lives and follow the will of God.

Romans 5:8: “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Romans 6:13: “No longer present your members to sin as instruments of wickedness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and present your members to God as instruments of righteousness.”

Jesus commands us to “Go and make disciples…” We are charged to find people where they are, using contemporary tools to make the timeless Gospel message of Jesus accessible (Matthew 28:18-20).

We often times prioritize our own personal comfort and preferences in our life, but in the church, we must prioritize the mission given to us by Jesus to reach people outside the church.

The package changes over time, but the message of Jesus never does.

I Corinthians 9:22-23: “To the weak I became weak, so that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that I might by all means save some. I do it all for the sake of the gospel, so that I may share in its blessings.”

Matthew 16:34: “Then Jesus told his disciples, ‘If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.”’

Matthew 28:18-20: “And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age."’

The entire focus of the Holy Spirit, Jesus, and the Father is to point the world back to a saving relationship with Christ—and we are invited into that exact same mission.

Acts 1:8: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

This song sings of God always being near us and present in our lives. Wherever we worship, we stand in a Holy place. The Spirit of the Lord dwells within us, always.

Romans 15:13: “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
