“Are we living into God's party? Are we inviting people to come to God's party? Are we coming prepared to have a good time on Sunday morning? Are we ready to dance and to laugh and to share the pure joy that God is giving us? Now, I'm looking around. It looks like we do have enough chairs to invite some more people. I have heard there have been times that every chair in here has been filled. Is it time to start making more invitations?”

We're Scaling Up!

How many meals is our Free Little Food Pantry providing our neighborhood? This week, we're scaling up to get an answer when we start weighing all donations.

The general formula is that 1.2 lbs. of packaged food equals one meal. A new scales arrived so we can weigh donations before they're put in our pantry. This includes the occasional individual items from Feeding America in our weekly Bread and Jam free community meals that aren't enough for meals. (For example, a jar of honey is a great ingredient, but we'd need to use it before expiring so putting it in our pantry may be a better option.)

We would do a better job capturing the full extent of our feeding ministry and honor the donations people make.

This also continues our Leadership Team's call to all our ministries and outreach programs to keep records so we can measure what kind of impact we have on people's lives.

Now as Christians, our tradition is to see every single Sunday as a party day because every single Sunday to us is a celebration of Easter.

Enjoying your ordinary life? So was Gideon. Well, maybe not enjoying exactly. Life was hard, and Gideon had to be sneaky to harvest his crop without the government taking too much as taxes.

Join the conversation this Sunday as we look at the life of Gideon in the Bible. Gideon's story is about God picking an ordinary farmer to lead warriors to win a battle because of his faith and trust. Gideon is about more than handing out Bibles today, but shows us how to listen for God's voice in our lives, and trust God's power instead of relying on our own resources. Our season of music officially began tonight with first rehearsals of our Wesleyan Bells at 6 and our Faith Singers at 7:15.
