As we celebrate the promise of Easter, we are reminded of the light and renewal that Christ brings to our lives. Thank you for helping to ensure that the Basilica of St. Josaphat remains a place where that hope can be experienced by all.

As 2025 wraps up, I’m grateful for all we’ve accomplished at the St. Josaphat Basilica Foundation. We completed the new retaining wall on Lincoln Ave., improved the 7th Street parking lot, and added a security gate.

In 2026, we will prepare for a multi‑year project: critical stone repairs to the Basilica’s exterior façade. Our current fundraising supports the architectural and engineering work needed to launch the largest campaign in our history.

Bel Canto Chorus performs four concerts this weekend at the Basilica of St. Josaphat. They will be back tomorrow at noon and 7:30 PM and at 4:00 PM on Sunday.

Today we honor St. Josaphat, the Martyr of Ecumenism.

On November 12, we remember a man who gave his life for unity—bridging the divide between Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholic traditions. Born in 1580 in Ukraine, St. Josaphat became a Basilian monk and later Archbishop of Polotsk, dedicating his ministry to healing centuries-old divisions within the Church. His courage, prayerful devotion, and ultimate martyrdom in 1623 remind us that true unity often comes at great cost.

May his legacy inspire us to seek peace, understanding, and reconciliation in our own communities. 🙏
