Sunday, the Feast of the Pentecost, was a busy day at St. Anne's. The altar was resplendent in red, the color for Pentecost. In the spirit of speaking in tongues, the gospel lesson was read in English by Ginger, Spanish by Jody, and Vai by Rev. John Edgar Freeman. Steve received his birthday blessing. Khadijah and Emmanuel renewed their wedding vows. After that we feasted on fried chicken, potato salad and baked beans. We also celebrated Fr. Freeman's five years serving as Vicar of St. Anne's.

Join in the celebration of the Feast of the Pentecost on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at 10:30 am at St. Anne's. This feast day commemorates when the Holy Spirit "showed up and showed out." Some people were speaking in tongues (foreign languages) while other people were understanding those tongues (languages). What a glorious day!

Don't forget to wear RED for our Pentecost celebration.

Today, the Sixth Sunday of Easter, members of the Wednesday Bible Study class received their Certificates of Achievement having completed the study of all sixty-six chapters of the Book of Isaiah. There was a pause during Lent. This study has taken almost nine months! The discussions were personal, passionate and spirited, yet respectful of different opinions. Two participants were absent today and will receive their Certificates at a later date.

Yesterday, at St. Anne's weekly Wednesday Healing Service and Bible Study the topic of discussion was Dame Julian of Norwich. Emily Austin, head of Diocesan Communications, was invited by Vicar John Edgar Freeman to share her vast knowledge on Dame Julian. Dame Julian is an iconic figure who is featured in "Holy Women, Holy Men" on May 8th. There was a spirit-filled discussion.

Thank you, Emily, for sharing your expertise with us. God is good, all the time.
