The St. Michael's (Junction City) PCCW is remembering and celebrating all fathers at our church by partnering with Pro-Life Wisconsin to offer popcorn for Father’s Day.

Mass is at 9am on Sunday, June 21

This is a great way to tell him, “Thanks for being the best dad ever!” with a delicious treat. The program "Popcorn for Pops!" supports individuals and families in our state through Pro-Life Wisconsin’s emergency pregnancy help efforts and pro-life educational efforts.

Happy Father's Day from the Diocese of La Crosse.
⁣
Today's readings are about courage in the face of fear. Jeremiah surrounded by enemies. The disciples warned of opposition. And the quiet assurance underneath it all: you are worth more than many sparrows.
⁣
On Father's Day, the Church sees the particular courage that fatherhood requires... the kind that doesn't always look dramatic. The courage to stay. To show up when it's hard. To provide when resources are thin. To speak truth to children who don't want to hear it. To model faith when doubt would be easier.
St. Joseph... the patron of fathers, of workers, of the universal Church appears in Scripture almost entirely in motion: traveling, protecting, obeying, providing. He asks no questions that are recorded. He simply acts, and trusts and stays.
⁣
Today's challenge from the Gospel: speak and live the truth even when it is difficult. Trust God instead of letting fear control your choices.
⁣

Today the Church observes the Optional Memorial of Saint Romuald, Abbot, founder of the Camaldolese Order and one of the great reformers of monastic life in the Middle Ages.

Born around 951 into a noble family in Ravenna, Italy, Romuald's early years were marked by privilege, but a tragic event became the catalyst for his conversion: his father, Sergius, killed a man in a duel.
⁣
Young Romuald, deeply disturbed, sought atonement by entering a monastery. He eventually had to leave that community to seek a stricter path and he then spent roughly thirty years walking the length and breadth of Italy, founding and reforming monasteries, acquiring a reputation as an ascetic and master of prayer.
⁣
In 1012 he finally settled in Tuscany and established what would become the Camaldolese Order.

Today's Gospel is the moment when Jesus teaches the Our Father.
⁣
We have prayed these words so many times that it can be easy to move through them without hearing them. St. Teresa of Ávila, observed that the Our Father contains the whole of contemplative prayer within it... that a soul could spend its entire life meditating on those words and never exhaust them.
⁣
The Catechism calls it "the summary of the whole gospel" (CCC 2761).
⁣
Seven petitions. A few dozen words. The entirety of the Faith.
