A beloved feature of our Memorial Garden, is this St. Francis Shrine that was dedicated to the glory of God and in loving memory of Francis Epes Bryant (1917–1998), father of Church of Our Saviour’s 11th Rector.
St. Francis of Assisi is remembered for his love of creation, compassion for all living things, and deep devotion to God. His presence in our garden offers a peaceful place for reflection, remembrance, and prayer.
Whether visiting loved ones remembered in our Memorial Garden or simply seeking a quiet moment, we invite you to stop and spend time in this sacred space.

This beautifully illustrated prayer, framed here at Church of Our Saviour, was created by Helen L. James and inspired by The Book of Common Prayer. Filled with delicate watercolor flowers, birds, woodland details, and illuminated calligraphy, the piece invites a moment of stillness and reflection.

There is something profoundly beautiful about creating flowers for memorial services.

Not to erase grief, but to honor love, memory, and the sacredness of a life that mattered deeply.

Did you know? 🐟✨

The fish in this stained glass window is an ancient Christian symbol known as the Ichthys, the Greek word for “fish.” Early Christians used it as a sign of faith, and each letter represents:
Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior.

Fish also appear throughout the Gospels, symbolizing abundance, community, and Jesus’ call to be “fishers of people.” The flowing water beneath them reflects themes of baptism, renewal, and new life.

Even today, these symbols quietly tell stories of faith, connection, and tradition within the church. Find this one in our COS Sanctuary.
