Adult Education is back!

Think of it a little like a book club but instead of reading a book, we gather around a topic, share perspectives, ask questions, and enjoy some wonderful fellowship along the way.

Our Adult Ed group meets once a month, and everyone is welcome, whether you’re Episcopalian, curious about faith, interested in thoughtful conversation, or simply looking to connect with people in the Mill Valley community.

Have you ever noticed this symbol in our church? ✨

The lamb pictured at the center of this cross is known as the Agnus Dei, the Lamb of God, an ancient Christian symbol representing Jesus Christ.

The lamb carries a banner marked with a cross, symbolizing Christ’s resurrection and victory over death.

It’s one of the many beautiful symbols found throughout Church of Our Saviour, each telling a story of our faith and tradition.

🎶 Our Summer Choir gathered in the Labyrinth Courtyard at Church of Our Saviour, beautifully framed beneath our magnificent stained-glass image of Christ and we couldn’t help but notice how perfectly their green, turquoise and gold vestments echo the colors above them. ✨💙💚

There is something so special about the way music brings people together, and we are incredibly grateful for the voices and spirit of our choir and all who make worship at Church of Our Saviour such a joyful community.

A closer look at the beauty woven into our worship. 🌿

The embroidered altar frontal at Church of Our Saviour is inspired by a centuries-old textile tradition known as the Tree of Life design. Popular in the 17th and 18th centuries, these richly embroidered fabrics feature flourishing vines, vibrant flowers, graceful birds, and an overflowing vase at the center, symbols of God’s abundant creation, renewal, and eternal life.

The style is often associated with Jacobean embroidery, celebrated for its flowing botanical forms, bold colors, and intricate craftsmanship. Originally influenced by textiles from India and later embraced in England, these patterns became a hallmark of sacred and decorative art.

Every flower, vine, and stitch reflects the idea that beauty itself can be an act of worship. Even the textiles that adorn our altar invite us to contemplate creation, craftsmanship, and the presence of God.

🌸 The sanctuary is full of stories, and sometimes they’re stitched in thread.
