Today we're highlighting two more amazing teachers who will be sharing their talents during Summer Art Camp 2026!

🪡 Destiny Moyer – Embroidery on Canvas

Destiny is a wife, homeschool mom of four, and a longtime Art Camp teacher with nine years of experience. She brings a passion for creativity and a wealth of crafting knowledge to every class she teaches. In her Embroidery on Canvas class, participants will learn a variety of simple embroidery stitches while creating a beautiful design on an 8x8 canvas. This beginner-friendly class is perfect for anyone looking to learn a new skill, explore their creative side, and leave with a handmade piece they can proudly display or gift to someone special.

🧸 Tonya Schuh – Kids Puppetry

Get ready for a fun-filled adventure into the world of puppets with Tonya! Students will learn the basics of puppetry, including puppet movements, character development, and voice manipulation. Through hands-on activities and lots of laughter, children will bring puppets to life while building confidence and creativity. The class will even wrap up with a special puppet show performance during the Art Camp program!

SATURDAY TEACHER SPOTLIGHT ✨

Today we're highlighting two amazing Summer Art Camp teachers: 🎨 Judy Mummau and 🎣 Donnie Martin!

Judy has been sharing her love of art with children for more than 25 years and has been a beloved Art Camp teacher for nearly 14 years. Her Kids Lighthouse Art class combines creativity, faith, and fun as students create lighthouse-themed projects while learning about Jesus as the Light of the World.

We're also excited to introduce a BRAND NEW class this year — Fly Tying with Donnie Martin! 🎣 Donnie will teach participants the art of creating their own fishing flies in a welcoming, beginner-friendly environment. Whether you're a seasoned angler or completely new to the craft, this unique class is a wonderful opportunity to learn something new.

⭐ Please note: Fly Tying is a special $30 class due to the tools and materials provided. All other classes are $20.

✨ TEACHER SPOTLIGHTS TONIGHT! ✨

🌈 Meet Jena Rissler – Kids Rubber Band Creations Instructor

Jena is 17 years old and a recent graduate who has a passion for creativity and design. She loves working with Rainbow Loom rubber bands and creating unique designs that range from simple bracelets to impressive, detailed creations. In fact, two years ago, Jena created a rubber band poodle using more than 50,000 rubber bands! She is excited to share her creativity, techniques, and love of crafting with the next generation of creators.

In Kids Rubber Band Creations, students will learn how to make a variety of Rainbow Loom bracelet styles, starting with beginner-friendly designs and progressing to more detailed patterns as their skills grow. Whether your child is brand new to Rainbow Loom or already loves creating with rubber bands, this class will offer plenty of opportunities to learn, create, and have fun. Students who already own a Rainbow Loom, loom board, or hook are welcome to bring them along, but all supplies will be provided.

📸 Meet Linda Geissinger – Photography Instructor

With more than 30 years of photography experience, Linda Geissinger has spent decades learning the art of capturing beautiful moments. She loves sharing the tips, tricks, and techniques she has learned over the years to help others gain confidence behind the camera and create photographs they can be proud of.

In Photography 101, students ages 13 and up will learn the fundamentals of composition, lighting, and creative photography. Through hands-on activities and fun challenges, Linda will help participants discover how small changes can make a big difference in their photos. Students may bring either a camera with an SD card or a smartphone with a Google account.

🎨 Meet Julia Mummau – Lighthouse Painting Instructor

Julia recently graduated from Cairn University with a bachelor's degree in Art Therapy and a minor in Bible. She has experience teaching art in Christian schools and loves helping students discover their creativity while building confidence through art. Julia is also the owner of Juliart Creations and offers private art lessons.

In Julia's Lighthouse Painting class, participants will create a beautifully painted lighthouse on a 16x20 wrapped canvas while learning color theory, blending techniques, texture, and brushwork. Whether you're a beginner or have painted before, Julia will guide you every step of the way!

👩‍🍳 Meet Sheryl Mummau – Kids Cooking Instructor

Sheryl is a mother of three married children and grandmother of eleven. Alongside helping with her family's farming operation, she enjoys quilting, gardening, reading, and baking. One of her greatest joys is helping children discover a love for cooking and baking through hands-on learning.

In the Kids Cooking class, children will have the opportunity to create fun and delicious recipes while learning basic kitchen skills, following directions, and gaining confidence in the kitchen. From tasty treats to family-friendly favorites, every session is designed to be fun, educational, and delicious!
