Today, the Union Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church family joins together with heavy hearts as we mourn the passing of our beloved and faithful member, Mr. Eddie Lawton.

Mr. Eddie was the true embodiment of Christ’s love through humble service. Throughout the years, he faithfully served as Preacher Steward, Financial Secretary, Lay Council President, Men of Zion Representative, and our cherished in-house handyman. His unwavering faith, servant’s heart, and willingness to help wherever needed left a lasting impact on our church family and everyone blessed to know him.

While we grieve his absence, we rejoice in the promise that he is now free from pain and resting in the eternal presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

We ask that you please keep Mrs. Deloris Lawton, Jeremy, Eddie Jr., Courtney, and the entire Lawton family in your prayers during this difficult time. May God’s peace and comfort surround them, remembering the words of Scripture:

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” — Matthew 5:4
