Join us for a powerful morning of remembrance, reflection, and community as we honor the lives of 14 individuals once known only to God.

In 2016, several community organizations came together to ensure these men, women, and children received a dignified reburial at St. Agnes Cemetery. Now, ten years later, we invite you to stand with us once again at the African Burial Ground Remembrance Ceremony as we celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the burial groundโ€™s founding.

This meaningful gathering is an opportunity to honor those who were denied their freedom, recognize their humanity, and ensure their stories are never forgotten. Your presence helps keep their memory alive.

As we prepare for our annual Memorial Day Mass this Monday, we are grateful to the Fuller Road Fire Company for stopping by today to help raise our cemetery flag in time for the celebration. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Their support and service help us honor the men and women who gave so much for our country. We look forward to gathering together in prayer and remembrance this Memorial Day at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.

Thank you, Fuller Road Fire Company, for your kindness and community spirit. โค๏ธ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’™

Sometimes things arenโ€™t always as solid as they seem! This morning, we had a tree removed at St. Johnโ€™s Cemetery in Troy after it repeatedly shed large branches. Once it was cut down, we discovered the inside was completely hollow! One of the crew members even had a little fun crawling inside for a photo. ๐ŸŒณ

Weโ€™re grateful the tree was removed safely before it could cause any damage.

Your donations are being spent wisely. Among improvements to roads and hazardous tree removals, we are also allocating funds to repair historic gravestones that have been broken for decades. This stone was in a deplorable state of disrepair. It is beautiful now!

Each season brings its own kind of beautyโ€”but this time of year is something special. ๐ŸŒธ

Right outside our office, our azalea bush has come to life in full color, and itโ€™s a reminder of how vibrant this season can be. The blooms are truly stunning.

Weโ€™re also getting ready to plant our annuals, and soon our large flower pots will be overflowing with fresh, beautiful arrangements once again. Stay tunedโ€”thereโ€™s more color to come!

Spend a creative morning at The Living Room Art Gallery, located inside the Visitors Center at Historic St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands. In this guided class, youโ€™ll paint on canvas using acrylics and water-soluble oil paintsโ€”blending the abstract shapes of Paul Cรฉzanne with the rich, textured brushwork of Vincent van Gogh.

No experience neededโ€”just bring your creativity!

Our cemetery is the final resting place for countless infants and children who passed in the 19th and early 20th centuriesโ€”lives tragically cut short by diseases and infections that, at the time, had no cure.

Little Francis died in 1880, shortly after his first birthday.

Itโ€™s deeply moving to see that even after so many years, a child is not forgottenโ€”remembered through the simple, beautiful act of a stranger placing flowers at his resting place.

This spring, Albany Diocesan Cemeteries proudly marks 17 years of providing in-house monument cleaning and restoration services.

Our programโ€”developed by our full-time historian and preservationistโ€”was created to help families care for their loved onesโ€™ monuments in a safe, respectful, and affordable way. Over time, lichen, mold, and environmental pollutants can build up, making inscriptions difficult to read and diminishing the natural beauty of the stone. Our expert restoration services gently bring these memorials back to life.

We offer free, no-obligation quotes to help you choose the right level of care for your familyโ€™s monument.
