Members of the Albany New York Stake gathered on March 7 & 8 for our bi-annual Stake Conference. The theme of the conference centered on finding joy in life despite the challenges we encounter. Speakers shared personal experiences of discovering joy in their trials through their relationships with Jesus Christ — a message that echoes the powerful teaching of President Russell M. Nelson: "Whatever questions or problems you have, the answer is always found in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ." Together, we were reminded that no matter the trial or difficulty we face, turning to the Savior is the path to lasting peace and joy.

I am writing to let you all know that there have been some updates to the Stake website.

Becoming Zion

Last fall, our Stake Presidency announced that they had received revelation for us to prepare now and become qualified to build one of the Lord’s holy houses in the Albany area. In response to that news, a few new web pages have been added to help inspire us and help us better communicate with each other on our experiences as we move forward together in Becoming Zion. The first page, titled Becoming Zion, contains a brief overview with several photos. Each photo is a link to the different aspects of the invitations we received to qualify for a temple. Those links are additional new pages. There is a place now for you to share your experiences in this invitation. Whether it be during the evening prayer or at the temple, we want to hear from you! There is also now a place for temple visitors to report on initiatories completed.

We have also been asked by President Nelson, who will soon be turning 100, to “... consider prayerfully: who do you know who may be discouraged? As you bring these questions to the Lord, He will inspire you to know how you can reach out and lift one who needs help." ~ Russell M. Nelson.
