“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

This verse is a part of a series of instructions from St. Paul, written to believers facing persecution. He tells us to rejoice always and to pray without ceasing!

Mary shows us best how to pray without ceasing - scripture tells us often how Mary “pondered all things in her heart.” Mary’s life is an example of constant mental prayer - even amidst a life of busyness, our hearts can be a “place of repose and communion of God.”

Mary’s Magnificat is a powerful prayer - instead of responding to the Annunciation in fear, she offers up these powerful words of prayer.

David wrote Psalm 56:3 while surrounded by enemies who were trying to destroy him. He chose to trust God rather than succumb to fear. “When I am afraid” shows us that it is very human to fear - but, we can choose how we respond to that fear.

Like Mary, we can shift our focus from fear to faith. And if you don’t know how? Ask her to help you! She will always point the way to her Son and to the Father ❤️

Check out this awesome opportunity for cantors, choir members, and instrumentalists of all kinds at !!

This is a special retreat hosted by music leaders throughout the Catholic Diocese of Memphis as well as local members of the National Association of Pastoral Musicians.

Check in begins at 4pm on June 22nd! There will be an abundance of singing, playing, and fellowship! All activities will culminate with a final message and dismissal mid-morning on June 24th.
