Brick by Brick and Next Steps in Our Youth Ministry
Through the summer, youth and their parents have engaged in some rich and deeply meaningful times together on Wednesday and Sunday evenings. From special “Sunday Funday” games and activities, to thought-provoking and insightful discussions about faith and how we are being formed, our group has grown closer and stronger over these months where we have used these verses from Ephesians 2 (The Message) as our guide:
That’s plain enough, isn’t it? You’re no longer wandering exiles. This kingdom of faith is now your home country. You’re no longer strangers or outsiders. You belong here, with as much right to the name Christian as anyone. God is building a home. He’s using us all—irrespective of how we got here—in what he is building. He used the apostles and prophets for the foundation. Now he’s using you, fitting you in brick by brick, stone by stone, with Christ Jesus as the cornerstone that holds all the parts together. We see it taking shape day after day—a holy temple built by God, all of us built into it, a temple in which God is quite at home.
While all of this is happening, our personnel committee has posted the part-time
Youth Ministry Coordinator position and we are making contacts through various
ministry partner networks around the area about candidates for consideration.
Please continue to pray for our youth, their families, and our church’s intergenerational ministries as we keep growing in faith together.
