Peter thought he was being generous. Jesus expanded forgiveness beyond limits. This kind of forgiveness reflects God’s heart toward us. We know how often we have been forgiven. We have experienced his patience again and again. That grace begins to reshape us. Forgiveness does not erase pain, but it prevents it from taking root. It frees our hearts from being held captive. In God’s kingdom, forgiveness becomes a way of life, not a one-time act. It flows from remembering how deeply we are loved. Who might God be inviting us to forgive again today?

Dear Church Family,

This week in worship we will consider a life changing event in Moses calling as God came down to meet him in the burning bush. Even in those times when God seems absent or silent, he is actively at work bringing about the rescue of his people. Though they cannot see it yet, Israel’s longed for deliverance has already begun. While we’re not the Israelites, and God deals with his people in ways that are unique to their circumstance in the course of human history, he is still the same yesterday, today, and forever. There are times when we feel God is absent, or when we aren’t sure of where he is working. Like the Israelites in Egypt, there are times when we feel trapped by our circumstances. And yet, as Moses discovered, God is not a distant observer of human suffering. The God who seems absent is often closer than we realize.

When life gets busy, it is easy to keep going without slowing down. Yet something changes when we pause to hear God’s voice. As we listen, the Spirit grows our faith. Through Scripture, through stillness, through simple awareness, God’s presence becomes clearer. Over time, the Father’s voice becomes familiar. We begin to trust his Son not because everything is explained, but because we recognize his Spirit’s work. Faith is not built in a moment. It grows in relationship. It deepens as we remain attentive. The more we listen, the more the Holy Spirit teaches us to trust. What space can we create this week to listen more closely to Jesus?

Transformation is often slower than we expect. We look for something immediate, yet God works deeply and patiently within us. The renewing of the mind shows up in quiet ways: how we think, how we respond, how we see others. Over time, we notice the Spirit’s fruit in us. We are reacting differently, with more grace and less urgency. These changes may seem small, but they are powerful. God is forming us from the inside out. God’s work is not rushed, but it is certain. And in the Father’s timing, we begin to reflect more of Jesus’ heart in everyday life. What quiet changes might God be forming in us today?
