Our purpose in bringing Catholic radio to this part of Florida is to carry out Jesus’ command to “Proclaim the Good News to all creation”, and to answer the appeal of our former Holy Father for a “new evangelization”, including extensive use of the electronic media. Catholic Bishops’ 1993 Evangelization Plan and Strategy, in which their first goal is, “To bring about in all Catholics such an enthu
siasm for their faith that, in living their faith in Jesus, they freely share it with others”. To develop such enthusiasm there must be readily accessible resources to facilitate growth in Catholics’ knowledge and love of their faith. Divine Mercy Radio commenced broadcasting on Divine Mercy Sunday 2008, bringing the message of the love and mercy of God to people of all faiths and no faith, the reality of Jesus' presence to those seeking meaning in their lives, and the promises of Jesus to those oppressed by sin, guilt, anxieties and addictions. In March 2017, the crew accomplished the major goals of acquiring a new office and station and also started broadcasting from the new tower site.
