Help us slow down and notice the gifts of each day, the beauty that surrounds us, and the needs of those around us. Grant us peace when we are anxious, courage when we face challenges, and hearts open to caring for one another. Guide our steps in the week ahead, that we may be a source of kindness, encouragement, and compassion wherever we go. Amen.

God of mercy,
be near to all affected by the Ebola outbreak:
the sick, the grieving, the fearful,
and all who care for them.
Strengthen doctors, nurses, and aid workers,
grant wisdom to leaders,
and bring healing, protection, and peace
to every community at risk.
Amen.

Episcopal Relief & Development and the Anglican Church of the Congo are supporting government efforts to reduce the spread of ebola within the displaced communities in Ituri and North Kivu provinces.

God of mercy and peace, on this Memorial Day we remember with gratitude all who have given their lives in service to others and to their country.

We honor their courage, mourn their loss, and hold in prayer all who carry the wounds of war, grief, and sacrifice.

Comfort those who mourn, strengthen those who serve, and guide the leaders of all nations in the ways of wisdom, justice, and peace.

Make us grateful for the freedoms we enjoy, and help us to use them not for ourselves alone, but for the good of all.

Teach us to be people of compassion, reconciliation, and hope; through your grace. Amen.
