Jesus wrote a letter to followers who were poor, slandered, and about to suffer, but He didn't promise them an easy way out. Instead, He told them who He is, how He measures wealth, and what it means to stay loyal when the culture and the government demand allegiance to a different lord. Jesus' letter to the church in Smyrna raises important questions: What would I compromise to keep a job, my status, or my family? How am I measuring my wealth and success? And do we need to worry about what happens after death?

Mark's message examines idolatry, economic pressure, seasons of tribulation, the crown of life, and a warning about the "second death." It also asks what American believers should practice now, while doors are still open and preaching the gospel is still legal. The habits we form now may matter more than we think.

If you know someone who needs to hear the same warning and the same hope, share this message with them, or post it to your own timeline. Would your loyalty to Jesus stay strong under persecution, or is it something you're willing to negotiate? What does real wealth look like when you may have to choose between career and Christ?

It's one thing to love people who already look, think, and worship like we do... it's another matter to have that same love when we step outside our comfort zone and meet someone we'd rather label, avoid, or walk past. Andy's message takes us through the story of a man that nobody wanted Jesus to notice, and tells us why Jesus stopped to talk to him anyway.

Find out why Jesus ignored the crowd's grumbling: https://medicallake.church/sermons/the-man-everyone-hated

Along the way, Andy will bring up some questions worth sitting with: Who among us gets to decide who is worth sharing the gospel with? What do we actually see when we look at people: the outside, or the heart? And, since saving someone's soul is not our job, what is the mission Jesus gave us?

Where is it hardest for you to show the love of Jesus? Who do you struggle to share the good news with? If this message challenged and inspired you, share it so someone else in your circle can hear and be blessed by it, too.

What would Jesus say if He evaluated our church today? His letter to the church in Ephesus describes a congregation that worked hard, endured patiently, and carefully tested teaching, but they still received a sharp warning about something important they had abandoned.

What was their mistake? https://medicallake.church/sermons/our-performance-evaluation

Mark's message challenges us to examine whether our sound doctrine is paired with genuine love for God and one another, while also pointing to clear steps for anyone who realizes they have drifted. The reward Jesus promised to those who overcome remains as real now as it was then.

Have you ever visited a church that seemed doctrinally strong but felt cold? What helps a congregation keep both truth and love alive? Share your thoughts before passing this message along to someone you know who needs to hear it.

Why would someone keep offering the same hope to hearts that have already closed themselves off again and again? As this message takes us through the final verses of Acts, we'll ask hard questions about how to remain faithful in spite of resistance, and why the story of the gospel is still unfinished... and still advancing.

Have you ever felt stranded by circumstances that seemed completely out of your control, only to discover later that God had been preparing the way the whole time? Has someone else’s kindness or a timely word of encouragement ever made a difference for you in a hard season?

Mark's Sunday message walked us through the surprising events of Acts 28, when a shipwreck, a deadly snakebite, unexpected hospitality, and powerful healings all revealed how an all-knowing God provides, strengthens, and encourages His people... even before they ask.
