McDonough Methodist Academy Chapel is one of the most sacred things that happens each week. So very thankful for Amy May who makes it happen and leads our Children’s Ministries: MMA Chapel for all (2 days a week), Crosswalk on Sunday evenings at 5pm in the gym and the MMA Afterschool Bible Club.

Since we didn't get any snow last week, this week at Crosswalk we'll be making snow! (Well, snow dough anyway.) We'll also be doing random acts of kindness and learning what the Bible says about love. ❄️☃️⛄️❤️ Join us on Sunday, February 1st at 5:00 in the gym. All kids 4 years old through 5th Grade are invited!

McDonough First UMC invites you to our winter/spring 2026
Crosswalk Ministries
Crosswalk is for all kids 4 years old through 5th Grade. We meet on Sunday evenings from 5:00-6:30 in the gym. Parents are welcome to stay with their kids or drop them off. Each night, we have dinner, study the Bible, play games, do crafts, and help in service projects. Our goal is to learn about the Bible and then practice what we learn with our friends. Everyone is invited to Crosswalk: you do not have to attend church at MFUMC to participate.

January 4: New Year’s Party! What does the Bible say about new beginnings?
January 11: Being a Peacemaker
January 25: The fruit of the spirit
February 1: Service Project-Random Acts of Kindness
February 8: All About Lent
February 22: What does the Bible say about love?
March 1: The First will be Last
March 8: Cooking with the Bible
March 15: The Last Supper: Learning about Communion
March 22: Easter Lessons and Crafts
March 29: Easter Egg Hunt
April 12: Service Project
April 19: Paint and Praise Day
April 26: Rise Against Hunger (A Church-Wide Event) Time TBA
May 3: Spiritual Gifts
May 17: Water Day! Bring a towel and wear clothes that can get wet.

Crosswalk will NOT meet on these dates: 1/18 (MLK weekend), 2/15 (Winter Break), 4/5 (Easter Sunday), 5/10 (Mother’s Day), 5/24 (Memorial Day), and 5/31.

June 15-18: STEM Camp for Kids (6:00-8:00 pm)

Instead of our usual Crosswalk, join us for a special performance on Sunday, December 14 at 5:00 in the Sanctuary.

Join us on December 14th at 5:00pm as we welcome Curt Cloninger to McDonough.

Curt’s Christmas show is very simple. It’s six monologues, interspersed with common Christmas carols. The audience sings the carols, led either by Curt, or by other musicians. The monologues range from very funny to very tender to very intense. The (somewhat) off-beat characters, all based around the nativity, encourage the audience to emotionally examine the curiosity and wonder of the birth of Jesus.
