Today we hear from Retta C. Mack. We appreciate her being here since the launch and all she does.

Hi my name is Retta and I’m a passionate follower of Jesus Christ who has attended celebrate recovery ever since it started almost 8 years ago. In the past I was overwhelmed by my depression, anxiety, codependency, low self esteem, a relationship addiction and so many issues I can’t even list them all. Celebrate recovery has helped me learn to use my tools when I face many issues. Having a faith based recovery for my hurts, habits and hang ups has helped me to become the woman God intended me to be. Am I completely healed of course not because when it comes to the mental stuff you never know when it will pop up but I have my people I know I can call to help bring me back to my peace and I also use my Bible app to get in God’s word to see what it says about it. I will always be thankful for that invite to celebrate recovery almost 8 years ago because it saved me from myself.

We want to congratulate Jeremiah for reaching his SIX year sobriety milestone! Jeremiah would tell you in recovery, you have to show up and be a part of a community when working on recovery! You have to be honest with yourself and work the steps and be sure to get a sponsor.

We are so thankful he is part of our CR forever
family! Congratulations again Jeremiah!

Today we celebrate Sherri Hilderbrand Sapp. We appreciate her, been a part of CR since the beginning.

Celebrate Recovery has been a part of my Thursday routine- since we first started this ministry. If you know me- you know food is part of my love language.
These folks and the appreciation they show are why we continue to show our love FOR all.
We have an amazing Food Crew- we all enjoy serving and getting to know those that attend, we are blessed by them, as much or more.

Today we hear from Kevin Ormes, one of the original people that started this CR.

When I was approached about starting a CR, I didn’t know what it was about. But when I found out it was about putting God into my recovery, I was excited. Secular recovery said I needed to choose between God and recovery. They even said a door k**b could be my higher power, but I needed a higher power that I could not manipulate. In CR, I’ve found more freedom and got closer to God in my relationship with Him. I’m so grateful we have a program to work on any habit, hurt, or hangup.

Sometimes in ministry we can get discouraged or even exhausted, then nights like last night happen. Where you see proof of His work and you leave on a whole new kind of “high”. One that is legal and free and available to everyone. Just want to take this time to say I appreciate all of you involved in CR. We wouldn’t be here without each and everyone of you.
