This morning, True Purpose Ministries held our Volunteer Mentor Initiative implementation meeting with over 20 volunteers who have committed to mentoring inmates inside Morgan County Correctional Complex! We had great fellowship, training, and last minute questions to get ready to go mentor inside the prison! Thank you, Governor Lee, Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiative, and the Volunteer Mentor Initiative Staff for allowing us this opportunity!

Chris Henson

I started getting high as a teenager, and from that point my life became a cycle of pain, bad choices, and brokenness. I spent much of my life in and out of jail, carrying shame, addiction, and hopelessness everywhere I went. There were times I had nothing—I was even homeless at one point. I went through two failed marriages and felt like everything I touched eventually fell apart. For a long time, I believed this was just the life I was destined to live.

But God had a different plan for me. Through True Purpose, I found Him in a real and life-changing way. What felt impossible started becoming possible. God began healing the broken places in me and showing me that my past didn’t have to define my future. Today, by His grace, I’ve been sober for 17 months. For the first time in a very long time, I’ve found real peace, real purpose, and real happiness. My testimony is proof that no one is too far gone for God’s love and redemption.

Wednesday’s Graduate Spotlight

Christina Chavez graduated our Sevierville Women’s program this year and we are so very proud of her!! Check out her story!!

For ten years, I was trapped in a m**h addiction, and during the last five years of that my life spiraled completely out of control. I was in and out of jail and couldn’t seem to keep my head above water. In October 2025, I lost custody of my children and the pain of that loss, pushed me even deeper into addiction and a feeling of total hopelessness. I had at this point even labeled myself a lost cause. Within a month, I found myself in such a dark place that I contemplated taking my own life- I had truly hit rock bottom. But in the middle of my brokenness, the Lord reached His hand out to me. He led me to True Purpose, a year-long faith-based recovery home, where I fully surrendered my life to Him. I realized that my way of living wasn't working, so I gave it all to God—and it was the best decision I have ever made. There, I began to experience healing, restoration, and the unconditional love of Jesus. Through that journey, I learned that my past does not define me and that God created me for a purpose far greater than I could have imagined.
Today, my life is a testimony to God's grace, mercy, and faithfulness. He has restored my hope, strengthened my faith, and is rebuilding my relationship with my children. I am now close to regaining full custody of them, som**hing that once seemed impossible. God has shown me that He can take even the most painful circumstances and turn them into som**hing beautiful. As I continue moving forward, He has placed a calling on my heart to help other women who have struggled with addiction, loss, and despair, just as I did. I want them to know that no matter how far they have fallen, they are never beyond God's reach. There is hope, healing, and a future in Jesus Christ. My story is proof that God still restores, redeems, and gives new purpose to broken lives, and for that, I give Him all the glory! ❤️🙌✝️

Wednesday’s Graduate Spotlight
Meet Brad and Jordan, who went through our Couples Program. They spent what seemed like a lifetime in addiction, darkness, and shame. In 2024, their lives changed when they found God and His love! Read their story and know things can change for you!

“Brad and I spent our whole adulthood in addiction, desperation, shame, guilt, homelessness, incarceration, just absolute darkness; seeing absolutely no other way of "life".

We came into True Purpose in fall of 2024 and this was absolutely one of the best decisions we ever made! The fertile soil True Purpose provided for us is where we met Christ, and learned how to establish a relationship with him. Our daughter Oaklynn, was True Purpose’s baby #43!! The Lord has restored my relationship with my 6 year old daughter! We are truly blessed and favored beyond measure, and it’s all because of our yes to Jesus and laying down our own lives!!

We are extremely grateful for True Purpose, for providing a safe place to recover from the world, and leading us to the feet of our Father! We will be 2 years sober and free in July!! Praise God for the life we have today!”
