It’s possible to look religious on the outside while our hearts remain unchanged. James reminds us that true faith is more than hearing God’s Word — it’s living it. Through repentance, trust in Christ, and lives marked by love and compassion, our faith becomes visible in the way we care for others and walk in His truth. Don’t just talk about your faith. Live it intentionally.

"For if someone merely listens to the message and does not live it out, he is like someone who gazes at his own face in a mirror. For he gazes at himself and then goes out and immediately forgets what sort of person he was" (James 1:23-24).

Peter calls on us to always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give a reason for the hope that is in you. Live in a way that reflects your faith. Let your words and actions point to Christ. You don’t have to be perfect, but you should be prepared. Someone around you is searching—be prepared to share the message of salvation.

There will be days when temptation surrounds you and sin makes joy feel far away.

But tuck this promise deep in your heart: You will see Him again.

One day you’ll be with Jesus in Heaven — where Satan can’t touch you, sin has no effect, and nothing can ever steal your joy. Because He lives, you will live with Him forever in perfect peace, comfort, and endless joy.

So, when joy feels distant today, look forward to that day — when you’ll be right by your Savior’s side.

Jesus Is Our Good Shepherd. Listen to His voice. Trust His voice. Learn to know Him and take to heart what it means that He knows you. He knows your need for forgiveness. He's your Good Shepherd who tends to all your needs so that one day you can join Him and all of His sheep, the whole flock gathered together at His side in heaven.
