Bon Secours Young Adults are a community of people in their 20’s and 30’s, single and married, centered in relationship with Jesus Christ and committed to being the Good News of compassion, healing, and liberation. Nourished by and flowing from our love for God and each other we are:

• Community: Joyful and diverse we come together in prayer, laughter, creativity and hope ready to offer welcome,

support, encouragement, challenge and companionship to each other and all whom we encounter.

• Faithful: As developing leaders connected to the Catholic Church through the charism and tradition of the Sisters of Bon Secours, we seek to embrace ever more fully our living faith in a loving God.

• Servants: Called to be “good help to those in need,” we are dedicated to “defending and caring for all of creation and to crying out with others against injustice and all that diminishes life on earth” as we seek to bring wholeness to body, mind and spirit in our communities and world.

Today is the Feast of St. Catherine of Siena, Doctor of the Church, who reminds us "Be who God meant you to be, and you will set the world on fire."

We give thanks for all the Sisters of Bon Secours who followed the fire of the Spirit set upon their hearts into their vocations, and who continue to set an example for us young adults about how to be ourselves, build community, and help others.

The Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) committee is hosting a free webinar next Saturday, March 21 all about the principles of non-violence. The webinar is open to Sisters, Associates, Young Adults, Staff, and partners of the Sisters of Bon Secours. There will be simultaneous interpretation in English, Spanish, and French.

Two guest speakers from Pax Christi will be joining us: Marie Dennis is a secular Franciscan, author of 7 books, a peace activist, and worked for the Maryknoll Missioners for 23 years. She is a Pax Christi USA Ambassador of Peace and Teacher of Peace. Elizabeth Kanini Kimau is a Kenyan Grassroots Peace Builder and the founder of Horn of Africa Grassroots Peace Forum. She has over a decade of experience in building a culture of peace in regions fragmented by prolonged inter-ethnic violence.
