So many fond memories of George, a gentleman so full of Life’s joy and God’s Love! Driving up early to a retreat at Manresa to find George already there, greeting us with arms outstretched and his beautiful smile.
Have often thought of the dinner we had to remember our dear friend Bonnie Bierman. George shared three things he loved about Bonnie. 1) that she was a woman of faith 2) that she knew how to be a friend, reaching out to so many of us by phone to get together soon (remember telling my daughter to call me more often as was missing Bonnie’s frequent calls, and 3) that Bonnie knew how to accept a compliment. So many of us tend to decline a compliment like
“Oh no, I think l am having a bad hair day”. Not Bonnie. Pay her a compliment and she would smile up at you and say “ More More?”
Good to know so many of our HEC friends are celebrating with George today. ❤️ to All. Nurse Kathy

Here is one of my favorite photos of George and me at a HEC retreat in 1986 or 1987. I remember all the many times we laughed together. Yes, George always made us smile. But George could also quite serious when it came to talking about his relationship with God. The talks he gave on HEC retreats always challenged us to deepen our faith.

My Mom and I will miss George. He had a big heart and a great sense of humor. He made everyone feel welcome on Hec retreat. He made everyone smile.

Deacon George was caring and the passionate of living.

Remember love baseball in Baltimore and George, Frank Fletcher, Joe Reap, Lawrence Spears and Myself went to watch the games. I enjoyed George of the game and life.

Maybe the mass and tree or other ideas. I will wait to heaven to talk with George.

I remember George from the last retreat I attended. I had the pleasure of taking him home after the retreat he was barely able to move but he never complained. His faith in God was very apparent and I am certain that he is with our Lord Jesus Christ praying for all of us. An angel that the Lord needed.

George was a man who loved God and loved God’s creation. He was a people person with much energy and love for our HEC community. I too have fond memories of his singing, laughing and sharing about his journey with Christ and his journey with others. It was George, that Christine and I were introduced to our HEC family and it was George who inspired me to continue with HEC. George was inspiring, funny and loving… We will certainly miss this giant in Christ and a lover of HEC, after all this is what our HEC community is about.
