The Church of St. Simon by the Sea

The Church of St. Simon by the Sea St. Simon-by-the-Sea is an Episcopal seasonal chapel in Mantoloking, NJ (the Diocese of New Jersey) with Sunday services from mid-June thru early September.

We welcome you to worship at St. Simon-by-the-Sea. The church is a summer chapel opening mid-June and closing after Labor Day. Visiting clergy conduct two services on Sundays:
8:00 AM - Holy Eucharist
9:30 AM - Family Service (Holy Eucharist 1st Sunday of the Month.) Simon-by-the-Sea was built in 1889 as a community church on land donated by Frederick W. Downer, the founder of Mantoloking, who wa

s a Presbyterian. The church became an Episcopal Church because its first minister, Reverend Dr. Horace Bishop was an Episcopalian. It originally had one tower and seated 80 people, but was enlarged to seat 150 people in 1897.

Join us for worship tomorrow, Sunday, July 27. 1334 Ocean Ave, Mantoloking, NJ. 8am Holy Eucharist; 9:30am Holy Baptism.

Notes:
1) the baptizands at 9:30am will be Locke Michael Jillson, Jr. and John Francis K***z, III. They are cousins and of the van Horne family.

2) The Very Rev'd Tim Kimbrough will serve his last Sunday with us tomorrow.

3) at 8am Mr. Kimbrough will be assisted by the Rev'd Hank Bristol, Deacon.

4) We will welcome Kristi Sorochan for the first time to serve as organist at the 9:30am liturgy.
