FCA TRAINING CAMP is one of the most important events of our year. Our student and adult leaders who have applied, been recommended and vetted, assemble for a day of being trained up in how to do all things FCA in the coming year.
* How to run an effective huddle
* Marketing strategies
* How to share the Gospel
* Team ministry ideas
* Service project ideas
* How to study Scripture and apply it
* How to disciple someone
* Legal freedoms and constraints
* How to speak with administration and coaches

We pour into our leaders to help them grow, so they feel equipped and empowered to be successful.

We undergird dozens to reach the thousands.

Do you know Emilie? She is everywhere! From overseeing the middle and high school FCA Huddles at Manteo and First Flight, to coaching swim and volleyball, to starting multiple FCA Huddles in GO FAR (local children’s running club) and youth baseball. She’s also building a relationship with the new summer collegiate baseball team, the Swinging Mullets, AND developing and directing the first ever FCA Youth Baseball Power Camp in the Outer Banks this summer. GOD CHANGES LIVES AT CAMP. FCA hosts thousands upon thousands of coaches and athletes at camp every summer, all over the world, to train in their sport, develop leadership and grow in faith. This summer, Scott will work 3 Team Football Camps in Rocky Mount. Scott, Emilie and I will serve at Leadership Camp in Black Mountain. Hannah is working in New Jersey at surf and skate camps. And Emilie is hosting the first ever FCA Baseball Power Camp right here in Northeast NC. We never want finances to prevent someone from attending camp. Last week, Pastor Glen Meadows from Manteo Baptist Church reminded us of what it means to be on Jesus’ Team.

Why do you play on a team? Is it to wear a cool hoodie ? Is it to get the cool jersey? No… it’s because it’s fun .

So, what does it mean to be on team Jesus ? We choose to be on team Jesus - we make that choice ourselves. Being on team Jesus starts with a decision…this world is full of options and distraction competing for your attention. And being on Team Jesus about staying focused and committed - it means surrendering our wants and desires for His, it means going against the crowd, it means loving other even when it’s hard, and standing firm in your decision to wear the jersey that says JESUS WON . Being on team Jesus means that you have chosen him, that you are following him, and that when people see you they know which team you represent. It’s not about being flawless but being faithful.

STAFF HIGH LIGHT :
Emilie is our Northeast NC FCA Area Representative to Dare, Currituck and Camden counties. She manages the huddles on campuses and has established huddles on so many school teams. She also has started huddles in community sports such as little league baseball and on multiple chapters of our local running club for elementary children, Go Far. So many student athletes have benefited from her leadership training. Emilie is amazing at problem solving, has a servant’s heart and is a popular emcee. Want to be a GAMECHANGER? Chose God To be the center of your life

It’s truly something special when a teenager gets up to share their testimony and a devotion in front of their peers.

MHS Student Leader Annie Maner spoke about her favorite worship song “Center” and read from Colossians 3:16-17.

We’re so busy I. Our day to day trying to do all of the things, but what matters most is keeping Jesus at the center of all that we do.

We may not have had FCA at MMS this morning so we’re reminiscing on last week’s meeting with Rob Flowers.

It was a packed house and there wasn’t a dry eye in the stands!

We touched on Mark chapter 1 verses 10 and 11 and also versus 17 and 18.

We were reminded today that because we have chosen Jesus, God loves us and is pleased with us. And as we Follow Jesus who is …the Way ,the Truth, and the Life, we are too encourage others to do likewise.
