Hello friends, neighbors and strangers! St. James Episcopal Church family, on Route 6, 30 E. Wellsboro Street in downtown Mansfield, would love to have you join us for our 2nd Friday of each month free community supper. We will serve a variety of soups, salads and desserts on Friday, June 12th from 4:00 until 5:30 pm. Everyone is welcome to bring their families and friends or someone you just met this week. We will share a delicious home cooked meal and the fellowship of being together.

So grateful for the blessings at our Pentecost/Whitsunday Holy Eucharist Service today! We enjoyed our time with The Rt. Rev. Kevin Nicholas, the Assistant Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of the Susquehanna, our priest, Rev. Janis Yskamp and our intern, Ramon Segers. Cheryl Hein Walters read the Old Testament in German and Ramon Segers read the New Testament in Dutch. Hearing them read in foreign languages helped us imagine the miracle of people hearing the words in different tongues. The service and our Bishop’s sermon were uplifting and our musicians brought tears to our eyes with their amazing music! Thank you to Robbie England (harmonica), Cheryl Hein Walters (harp/voice), Adam Mahonske (piano), Peggy Morehart (flute) and Ben & Julie Schlosser (voices).
Additionally, our friend, Tricia Walker, gave an update about our mission work in Liberia. With her leadership, our parish and other involved groups continue to gather financial, educational, necessary personal care items, books, computers, sewing machines and so many essential materials that are lifting the region of our friends in Liberia. We learned that our community/school building will be the site for vaccinations.
Of course, in true Episcopalian style our excellent cooks and bakers prepared a delicious brunch for everyone.
