SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: MEET OUR 2026 GOLDEN 50 SOIRÉE HONOREE — BISHOP JOSEPH HALL JR.!
The Shreveport Urban Press proudly recognizes Bishop Joseph Hall Jr.,
affectionately known as the “Servant Extraordinaire,” for his decades of pastoral leadership, community outreach, and unwavering commitment to serving God’s people.
Born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana, Bishop Hall accepted the call to preach in December 1985 at the age of 18. Since then, his ministry has taken him across Louisiana, Texas, and Washington, where he has served in various pastoral leadership roles, touching lives through the teaching of God’s Word and a heart for service.
Throughout his ministry, Bishop Hall has demonstrated a commitment to spiritual growth and community development. Under his leadership at Union Spring Church in Catuna, Louisiana, the congregation grew to more than 500 members, expanded its ministries, and established the Union Spring Life Center/Restoration Center to address the spiritual and physical needs of the community.
His dedication to community service extended beyond the church through youth programs, after-school initiatives, summer feeding programs, and efforts to provide resources for families in need. In 2005, the Restoration Center also served as a shelter for Hurricane Katrina evacuees, reflecting his commitment to helping others during times of crisis.
In 2012, Bishop Hall was officially installed as Pastor of First Baptist Church of Cedar Grove in Shreveport. His ministry continued to expand, as he became Louisiana State Leader in 2018 and was consecrated as a Bishop in 2019. In 2023, he was installed as Pastor of Benford Chapel Baptist Church in Tenaha, Texas, and New Zion Baptist Church in Grand Cane, Louisiana.
Join us in celebrating Bishop Joseph Hall Jr. and his remarkable legacy of faith, leadership, and community impact!
