How God used a miracle to birth “Come to the Table.”
"Jesus performed a Miracle saving my life"
On October 4, 2016 I allowed and entertained sin in my heart. This was the first time allowing sin in my heart but had not acted on it, yet it felt like I had and I was being convicted because of it. Some of you may know, each day my post is found in an event that took place the day
before. Early each morning I meditate and reflect on the previous day and the Lord leads me to a topic for that day. On October 5, 2016, during this quite time the Lord led me to the topic; "Obedience verses Disobedience". While still at the house I post a prayer about "Obedience verses Disobedience" and scripture on the same topic. On the way there I reflect, pray and repent about the things the Lord convicts me of. Once I arrived at the Church I park my scoot at the foot of the Cross. I recommit my life to Jesus each morning and pray for various people. I take a picture of my scoot at the foot of the Cross and post the picture with a song referencing obedience verses disobedience. I then get on my scoot to leave. Ok, subconsciously the Holy Spirit speaks to me all the time. Leading me and prodding me to do this or that. BUT!!!! This morning it was audible and it was God speaking to me. I need to point out here that before this, God had never spoke to me audibly. As soon as I got on my scoot, God said get off your bike. Now, I have to admit that for a few seconds I thought the Church may have a speaker out there and someone was messing with me. However, I did immediately get off my bike and quickly started questioning what had I forgot to do. Then God said walk around the Cross and the bike stopping where you started. So, I did. When I got back to where I had started, God said leave now! I was instantly washed with a since of urgency and somehow knew I had to get somewhere but I did not know where. I quickly snapped another picture and then hopped in my scoot and left. I turn right out of the Church going towards Manassas on route 28. When I got to the light for the WaWa I noticed a truck just coming over the hill from the other direction. They were making a left turn into the Service Center next to the WaWa. They were turning across my path. I hit my brakes and at the same time saw the lights on the truck dip down so I knew they saw me and were stopping - so I thought. Once I realized they did not stop until they were right in front of me it was too late. I slammed on my brakes and my scoot went sideways. Right before impact I lifted my left leg so it would not get smashed between the scoot and the truck and I closed my eyes. What happens next, happens fast! I felt an impact and heard an impact. But when I open my eyes I was still sitting on my scoot but directly on the other side of the truck. I never got off my scoot. An elderly woman got out of the passenger side and started apologizing for causing the accident. She was shaken and to me not making any since. At the same time, two guys ran up from the WaWa yelling where is he, where is the other biker? We heard the accident. The elderly woman and these two guys are standing there looking at me. I look at the woman and assure her there was no accident and that I'm fine. She said no honey, we felt the impact. I said it again, that I was fine and added God bless you. I then looked at the two guys and tell them God bless you and thank you for checking on me. They said they had either called 911 or had asked a young lady in WaWa to call 911. At this point I start looking at the ground to see if any fluids were running out of my scoot or any damage - but nothing - all was fine. The two guys walk back to WaWa and the woman walked over to the curb. The driver then pulls his truck out of the road. He gets out and walks over to me. My scoot won't start so that I could move it off the road. Once the elderly man made it to me. I put my hand on his shoulder and what happened next we both knew it was not us! We were pulled together and embraced each other really tight. I said, Sir, everything is going to be ok, God bless you, Sir. As soon as I finished saying that we were released. He turns and walks back to his truck. I try to start my scoot once again and this time it starts. As I drive away, the last time God has ever spoken audibly to me and says; "One of them needed a blessing and needed right then." As I ride home I'm processing everything that took place. My mind is wondering all over the place as to what really happened. This all took place at 3:30 am and I returned around 3:30 pm to look at the site. I took three pictures and made two videos. My skid stopped where the truck was sitting and then continued on the other side. But no skid mark under the truck or where the truck was sitting. I asked the service center and WaWa if they had video of that entrance. The young lady working at WaWa was the one working when the accident happened that did not happen. Neither place had video. On October 5, 2016 at approximately 3:30 am the Lord saved my life. He sent me through the truck. And I mean yes - right through the truck. There was no accident, yet everyone around and involved heard one and or felt it. No dents, no scratches no nothing - straight through a truck!!! Now my neck, shoulder and back did hurt for three weeks afterwards. Here is the amazing part. Even though I had been disobedient and allowed sin in my heart the day before, the Lord used it to show me I was completely obedient to Him. What I know today, is everything is ordered by God. I'm not saying He put sin in my heart, no - I did that. But He used that so that He could use me to speak a blessing over another persons life. And at 3:30 am I was the one He used. Yes, I love Jesus! Yes, I pray I serve Him until I die!!! This miracle took place in front of the Wawa in Bristow, VA. I was drawn to stop there daily for coffee. God began to set up Devine appointments. This gave birth to; “Happy Hour with Jesus at The Table Breaking Bread where all are welcome.”
Our Mission: “We wonder, do you know Him?”
God doesn’t need us, however - He wants us. He accepts us and loves us right where we are. Nothing we have done, are doing or will do in the future will not change His love for you. He wants to be in relationship with you. It’s only a trash can in front of a Wawa. But it is anointed and blessed. Our prayer is that over time, Jesus followers everywhere will commit to a Table right where they are to lead others into relationship with God right where they are.
“I love my Brother - I am my Brother’s Keeper”
Will you join us? Come to the Table
- Sidewalk Profits lyrics
We all start on the outside
The outside looking in
This is where grace begins
We were hungry, we were thirsty
With nothing left to give
Oh the shape that we were in
Just when all hope seemed lost
Love opened the door for us
He said come to the table
Come join the sinners who have been redeemed
Take your place beside the Savior now
Sit down and be set free
Come to the table
Come meet this motley crew of misfits
These liars and these thiefs
There's no one unwelcome here, no
So that sin and shame that you brought with you
You can leave it at the door
And let mercy draw you near
Just come to the table
Come join the sinners, you have been redeemed
Take your place beside the Savior now
Sit down and be set free
Come to the table
Just come to the table
To the thief, to the doubter
To the hero and the coward
To the prisoner and the soldier
To the young, to the older
All who hunger, all who thirst
All the last, all the first
All the paupers and the princes
All who fail you've been forgiven
All who dream, all who suffer
All who loved and lost another
All the chained, all the free
All who follow, all who lead
Anyone who's been let down
All the lost you have been found
All who've been labeled right or wrong
Everyone who hears this song
Just
Come, come to the table
