160 YEARS OF FAITHFULNESS. ❤️⛪️

Sunday was truly something amazing!

Shorter’s Chapel A.M.E. Church is filled with gratitude as we reflect on the incredible celebration of our 160th Church Anniversary. What a beautiful day it was to honor our history, celebrate our legacy, and give God glory for His faithfulness through 160 years.

To everyone who took the time to come and witness, worship, fellowship, and celebrate this historic milestone with us—THANK YOU! Your presence helped make Sunday a day we will remember for years to come.

For 160 years, Shorter’s Chapel has stood as a place of faith, family, service, and worship. Generations have walked through these doors, lifted their voices, prayed, served, and helped carry this ministry forward.

We are humbled by the legacy behind us, grateful for the moment before us, and excited about what God has in store for the generations ahead.

160 years later, we’re still standing.
Still believing.

📌 Vendors keep their own sales. The $20 vendor/yard sale spot donation directly supports the YPD ministry and helps us continue creating meaningful opportunities and experiences for our youth.

Shorter's Chapel A.M.E. Church in Bridgetown (Machipongo), Virginia, was organized in 1866 by Reverend John H. Offer, the first Black Methodist minister on Virginia's Eastern Shore. Built on the foundation of an 1867 Freedmen's Bureau school, the historic church was named after African Methodist Episcopal Bishop James A. Shorter.
