Pastor Lucy attended Annual Conference last week, where the conference celebrated 70 years of women in ordained ministry in the United Methodist Church. This milestone honors the faith, leadership, and service of women who have answered God’s call to ministry and helped shape the church over the past seven decades.

Last night, as I was putting the kids to bed, my 3-year-old asked, “Mommy, who’s God?”

I explained that God loves us, watches over us, and is always protecting us.

She thought for a moment and then asked, “But Mommy, what if God has to go potty?”

Trying not to laugh, I told her, “I don’t think God goes potty.”

She sat quietly for a few minutes, deep in thought, then looked at me and asked, “But Mommy… what if God has to vote?”

In a world that moves so fast and feels so busy, moments like these are a beautiful glimpse of innocence. ❤️

As adults, our minds are often crowded with deadlines, responsibilities, worries, and endless to-do lists. We spend so much time rushing from one thing to the next that we forget how magical simple questions can be. Then a child comes along and wonders whether God needs a bathroom break or has to cast a vote, and suddenly the weight of the day feels a little lighter. Their wide-eyed curiosity reminds us that the world is still full of mystery, laughter, and possibilities we’ve stopped noticing.

The questions of a child may seem simple, but they remind us to slow down, smile, and see the wonder in the world through their eyes. Their curiosity, imagination, and pure hearts are such a gift.

Sometimes the sweetest lessons come from the littlest people. 🥰
