Today our Parish held Its Annual Ethnic Food Fest. Thank you to all of our guests that visited to enjoy homemade food and basket raffles. We have been holding this fest for over 25 years now. Though some things have changed, we always enjoy the fellowship and work together seemlessly. It was nice catching up with our friends. Thank you all for coming.

Happy Feast Day. What a joy it was to spend the Feast of the Beheading of Saint John the Baptist our parish patron saint with many visitors today.

The memory of the righteous is celebrated with hymns of praise, but the Lord’s testimony is enough for you, O Forerunner. You have shown yourself to be more honorable than the prophets, for you were found worthy to baptize the One they proclaimed. Therefore, having suffered for the truth, rejoice, for you have proclaimed even to those in Hades the God who has appeared in the flesh, who takes away the sin of the world and grants us great mercy.

Please join us for our Parish Patron Feast Day!

Please join us on Friday, August 28, for Vespers at 6:00 PM, preceded by Confessions with Father Bill beginning at 5:30 PM, as we prepare to celebrate our parish’s annual patronal feast, The Beheading of St. John the Baptist.

The feast will be celebrated with Divine Liturgy on Saturday, August 29, beginning at 9:30 AM.

Following Divine Liturgy, we will gather together in fellowship with a meal. In keeping with our parish tradition, no platters will be used—please bring your dishes in bowls.

We look forward to celebrating this beautiful feast together in prayer, fellowship, and love!

The Feast of the Dormition of The Theotokos was celebrated at St. John The Baptist. Following a two week fast period, Father Barnabas blesses flowers and herbs.

Today chapter 50,FOCA,Fr. John Naumovitch Literary "R"Club,St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church of Edwardsville delivered 2 SUVs filled with school supplies, kitchen pantry, food supplies, some winter clothing and shoes,and monetary checks to St. Olga's Closet. In Lake Ariel. St. Olga's serves seminarians and their families from St. Tikhon's to help lift some of the financial burden while they are students.
