On May 1, our community came together to support a vital cause—fighting cancer—at the annual Relay for Life event. Faith of Calvary Baptist Church was proud to participate in this meaningful event, demonstrating our commitment to hope, healing, and community support.

Relay for Life is a nationwide movement organized by the American Cancer Society, bringing together individuals, families, and organizations to honor survivors, remember those we've lost, and raise funds for cancer research and patient support programs. This event symbolized the collective effort to beat cancer and bring hope to millions.

Faith of Calvary Baptist Church actively participated in various activities throughout the day, including walking laps, prayer sessions, and community outreach. Our involvement underscored our faith-driven mission to serve and uplift those affected by cancer, providing encouragement and solidarity.

We are grateful for everyone who joined us in supporting this noble cause—whether by walking, volunteering, or donating. Together, in faith and purpose, we made a difference in the fight against cancer.

Thank you to all who participated and supported. Your efforts helped us walk in hope, faith, and love.

On Sunday, November 9, 2025, Faith of Calvary Baptist Church took a special time to honor and celebrate the brave men and women who have served our country. We proudly recognized our church veterans and extended our heartfelt appreciation to the spouses of three veterans who were unable to attend but are equally deserving of our gratitude.

We honor our church veterans:

**Rev. Chalmers Kerns**, Army Veteran and former Pastor

**Bro. Jr. Sampson**, Navy Veteran

**Sis. Glenda Thomas**, Army Veteran

**Rev. Tim Pevia**, Air Force Veteran

**Mr. Craig Oxendine**, Army Veteran

**Mr. Horace Oxendine**, National Guard Veteran

In addition, several church members have family members who are veterans, and we are grateful for their service and sacrifice. As a gesture of appreciation, we distributed gifts to our veterans and their spouses, as well as to our church family members who have veterans. It was a heartfelt way to show our gratitude for their service and dedication.

We also joyfully acknowledged three young men from our church in ROTC—Jeremiah, Triston, and Isaiah—who are currently pursuing their goal to join the military. We are so proud of these young men and their dedication to service and patriotism.

During the program, Jeremiah, Triston, and Isaiah helped us honor our nation by presenting the USA Flag, Christian Flag, and the Holy Bible. Their participation was a proud moment for our congregation, and they did a job well done.

We thank all our veterans, their families, and especially these young men for their commitment and service. Your sacrifices and dedication inspire us all. May God bless our veterans and keep them safe.

On October 31, 2025, Faith of Calvary Baptist Church joyfully celebrated our Annual Harvest Festival, a wonderful day filled with good food, fun, and fellowship. It was a fantastic opportunity for our church family and visitors to come together, enjoy engaging games for all ages, and share in the festive spirit.

A special thank you goes to Bro Jackie for his dedication in fixing the "Guess the Money" Jar, which added an exciting highlight to the event. Congratulations to Adilynn for her accurate guess and winning the jar!

This year, we also launched our yearly canned food drive, and Brooklyn was the grateful recipient of the door prize for bringing in canned foods. Many children received lots of candy, and everyone was encouraged to invite friends and neighbors to join us for Sunday Service, spreading the message of community and faith.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who helped make this Harvest Festival a success. Your support, participation, and enthusiasm truly made the day memorable. We look forward to many more celebrations together in the years to come!
